Day 3252: How I spent Thanksgiving 2021

How I spent Thanksgiving 2021 included:

  • blogging,
  • taking a walk,
  • spending time with people I love,
  • missing those who weren’t there,
  • eating vegetarian “turkey” and pie,
  • observing precious creatures at play,
  • facing fears,
  • staying safe,
  • reaching 16K followers on Twitter,
  • giving thanks for every precious moment, and
  • listening to Anaïs Mitchell’s 2010 concept album “Hadestown.”

Now I’m thinking about how I’m going to spend the day after Thanksgiving (which will include working from home and reading your comments about this blog post).

No matter what day it is, I give thanks for you!

Day 3250: Numbers

I’ve written many numbers of blog posts about numbers and here is another 1!

I have difficulty remembering numbers. There have been a number of times when somebody tells me a number and I forget it before I have a chance to write it down. (By the way, I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve rewritten that previous sentence.)

When I’ve been scheduling therapy appointments for next year, I consistently enter the year number as 2021, and the hospital computer system replies “PAST.” I can’t get the number 2022 into my head.

Repairing the damage to our home because of the leak from the upstairs shower is going to cost a lot of money, but I don’t know the exact numbers yet.

1 day before Thanksgiving, I give thanks that I have 1 son, 1 husband, 1 ex-husband, 2 cats, and a good number of friends.

Do you see numbers in my images for today?

Personally, I’m glad that my 1 kid is in my house.

It took Michael 3 times to perfect this tofu dish …

… so that all 3 of us loved it.

Here is song #1 from Anaïs Mitchell’s 2010 concept album Hadestown, 6 years before it debuted as a stage musical.

I’ve listened to that beautiful track a number of times.

I look forward to the comments about this “numbers” post, below.

I’m very, very, very grateful for the numbers of people who read this blog, including YOU.

Day 3248: November 22

On November 22, 1963, I had my first heart operation, got my first cardiac pacemaker, and got a promise from my mother that I could get my first cat.

Two days later, while I was dealing with many physical and emotional wounds, I found out that President John F. Kennedy, whom I loved and admired, had been assassinated on November 22.

Since that day, November 22 has always been an important anniversary for me. Often, I get depressed and anxious, and I’m relieved when the day is over.

Today, I’m just grateful to be alive and well, 58 years later.

Here are my images for November 22, 2021:

.

On my walk yesterday, I was listening to the sounds of nature and the music from Hadestown, which I’m still hearing in my head, here and now, on November 22.

What are your thoughts and feelings about November 22?

Thanks to all who have helped me make it to this November 22, including YOU.

Day 3241: Discover what moves you

Yesterday, when I was at the Boston Opera House to see the moving musical Hadestown, I discovered this:

As we are moving through the pandemic, I am discovering that more people feel safe enough to move together in a crowd.

Today, what moves me is going to be an Amtrak train taking me and my son Aaron to New York City. I’ll discover what moves me in NYC, besides the new Broadway production of Company and Late Night with Steven Colbert, once I get there.

What moves me is that my son Aaron still likes to travel with me.

Discover what moves you in today’s blog post, including these images:

No matter how much I move, I am not discovering a flat stomach.

I discovered yesterday that “Why We Build The Wall” from Hadestown moves me.

I look forward to discovering what moves you in the comments section, below.

I discover, every day, that gratitude moves me, so thanks to all who have the courage to move or be moved, including YOU.
