My husband Michael, who told me that Willie Nelson’s early draft of the song “Crazy” was titled “Stupid,” turns another year older today.
Marrying Michael (who is not stupid despite never graduating from high school) is one of the smartest things I’ve ever done.
Here is the Daily Bitch calendar for Michael’s birthday.

Here are the rest of my stupid images for today.

Some people think that those daily observances are stupid.
Here’s the first thing that comes up when I search for “stupid” on YouTube.
.
I love you, Michael.

.
Thanks to all who are here for this stupid post, including YOU!

Happy birthday to Michael!
Thanks, Debbie!
Happy Birthday, Michael. Of course, he is not stupid; he had enough sense to ask you to be his wife. At least that is what I tell myself, and when I do/ say something stupid, at least I was smart enough to ask my wife to marry me.
The question at hand is one I have grappled with my entire existence. In some instances, I can distill it down to “they’re not stupid, they just do stupid things”. Hey, we all do, right? In other cases, stupid is just the human condition. As one commenter said, “Humans are born stupid”; learning requires energy. This is has been my experience: People are lazy and will do the bare minimum. They refuse to do the work or they do not have the bandwidth to do the work. It is a vicious circle.
Thank you for this very smart answer, Stan.
happy birthday to michael!
Thanks, beth!
Happy Birthday, Michael!
I borrowed my answer to the stupid question from my own long-established answer to why I don’t get along with children. Full disclosure: I have a 2-volume set of Toynbee’s “A Study in History” (abridged) of which I have to date read only one. 🙂
Great!
Happy birthday to Michael, who has such an amazing sense of humor. I really hope to meet him in person one day. (And would love to try one of his after admiring thousands of photos of them.)
I hope that you meet someday! That would make me so happy.
Happy birthday to Michael! Hope he had a good one!
He did and thank you, Carol Anne!
Happy birthday to Michael who stands as an example that it’s not formal education that makes a person smart but a willingness to learn.
Thanks for your willingness to learn, my friend!
