Day 4805: Life saving

Last night, somebody in my Coping and Healing group said they found the group life saving. This was very gratifying to hear.

In a few minutes, I’ll be getting ready to go to the hospital to give a presentation about these life saving groups to a group of life saving interns.

Let’s see if there’s anything life saving in my images for today.

.

My hope is that this song of mine might be life saving.

.

Thanks to all who are life saving (even if you don’t know it), including YOU!

    Good Morning Ann.
Of the many good doctors I have had in my short 58 years, two stand out: Dr Mark Thibert and Dr Stanley Wilson.
Dr Mark was my GP between ages 34-45 when he moved away. Wife and I joked about following him.
Dr Stan was the therapist who really opened my eyes! Yes I had counselors with whom I could confide, but he was the one who challenged me, dared me to be better. It’s funny but he sent me an email not too long ago asking how I was. (this time I had moved away)

What kept me alive: Different things but the undying hope that tomorrow will be better is the best life saver I know…

When you asked about favorite doctors, I could only think of my own. But today, you’re all about life-saving and that brings another doctor to mind. I don’t remember his name, but he was our pediatrician when we were littles – all six of us. Brian was the newest, still a baby. We all had had a flu, and the top five of us had recovered fairly well. My mother wasn’t one to freak out easily – after 6 kids, she’d gotten over her freak out stage. But something about Brian worried her, and she called the doctor. At first he assured her, but something about her voice? her description of him? I don’t know what it was. But he decided to come to the house. It was 1956 or so. Yes, doctors made house calls. He came to the house and examined little Brian, then had an ambulance called and Brian taken away to the hospital. He had spinal meningitis and nearly died. That doctor saved his life and Brian became my favorite brother. So I guess the doctor whose name I can’t recall is my very favorite.

  4. Brilliant song! 🙂 great message!
