How fragile is this country? How fragile are relationships? How fragile are people’s feelings?
As a therapist, I often deal with people’s fears about what seems fragile. I invite them to consider that things and people may not be as fragile as they fear.
In my groups, members talk about having to walk on eggshells around others and also about how liberating it feels when they shift that fragile mindset.
Personally, I’ve been feeling less fragile lately as I focus on the fact that I am still alive and healthy after 73 challenging years.
Last night, on my way home from work, I saw this:

Do you see anything fragile in my other images for today?

Here’s what I find when I search for “fragile” on YouTube:

Thanks to all who are here for this fragile post, including YOU!

Awesome video and photos Anne! My day is off to a great start now!
I’m so happy to hear, my awesome friend!
Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me… Just the opposite. Words cut deep wounds that bleed incessantly. Psychological and mental fragility is real. At least in my experience, this is true.
My favorite tea: Hot Earl Grey. Korean Green Tea Iced. Neither with sugar or cream. Straight up tea
You are not alone, Stan. 💙
I feel very fragile, after being strong forever. Can strong wear out? My husband has cancer. We’re in year 4 of treatments and hope and disappointment. He’s angry all the time. No joy in anything. Most of his impatience is aimed at me no matter how hard I try. Im thinking about finding a counselor for me. Do they have cancer councelors?
If there’s a Gilda’s Club in your area they may be able to help. Their mission is to help everyone affected by cancer—which means caretakers as much as parents. Good luck.
There is. I’ll check it out. Thanks.
They do have counselors that specialize supporting caretakers and there are other services like Chris suggested. My heart goes out to you, Dawn. 💙
Thank you
I appreciated that Gail Honeyman novel, Ann.
Good to know, Mark.
like mark, I loved the Elinor Oliphant book, and I feel that our democracy if fragile at this time, but we are strong people and will not let it fall. we cannot sit down and cannot give up, we have to keep fighting for it.
I started the book, beth, and we will be strong together.
I felt too fragile to go to the Renee Good vigils and protest last weekend. I need more lead time – find a parking garage nearby, stow my walker in the car along with water, etc. With my wonky legs and a lower back that does not like holding me upright for longer than 5-10 minutes, I am leery of becoming a distracting casualty or messing something up because I’m in a hurry. I don’t hurry well, either. Danger of forgetting things, going to the wrong place, stuff like that. And the vigil – night driving issues as well. I’ve heard something is going on on the 20th. A work walkout on a Tuesday. That’s a definite maybe.
We do what we can, my friend.
I am glad to hear that you are feeling less fragile!
Thank you, Maureen!
Most nights I make my wife a cup of chai tea. Somehow caring for others makes me feel less fragile.
I can relate, my good friend.
