Day 4447: Where do we go from here?

Many people have theories about how we got to this dissettled place; I’m wondering: “Where do we go from here?”

Where do we go from here to preserve democracy and bring back civility, kindness, equality, and justice?

One place I’m going from here is Italy. Then I’ll be happily going back to my hometown Boston, where Mayor Michelle Wu is bravely and strongly defending people’s freedoms and standing up to Republican bullies.

Where do we go from here? We go to my images for today.

.

Where do we go from here? We go to this song by Chicago:

.

Where do we go from here? To gratitude, of course, for YOU.

I’m trying to help someone write simple statements about the importance of Medicaid in Wisconsin. Woke up this morning to see that the FF has cancelled the Department of Education. So how will all those little refugees learn our official language? Oh, riiight. They won’t. They’ll be deported. And with cuts to Medicaid, fewer disabled kids will need any education since they will never develop any skills where they could use it. The list goes on. The FF and his minions are like moths that have been let loose in the fabric of our nation. All due apologies to actual moths.

    Hi Ann.
My wife and I are planning a trip for Italy in 2026. Personally, There is really not much that I want to see other than to experience the culture. I hate being a tourist and doing touristy things. I want to experience a day or week in the life. So many people do the touristy stuff and then think they emerssed themselves into the culture. So if we do make it to Italy, this is how I would approach it.

The thing that gets me about POTUS’ speech is how many people with whom I went to school came away with such a different understanding of the bullshit. We sat in class with the same teachers reading the same materials and yet we have dramatically different views of what is happening. How can that be? Of course, this supports my idea that cloning Einstein would not product another Einstein. Why? Because of all the various life events and experiences that simply cannot be cloned. There is no way to get another Einstein. There is no way to get another Ann Koplow. We should cherish the one we have

  5. Italy seems to be a good place to go right now, though I admire Mayor Wu working to protect people here. As a former Latin student I’d want to go to Rome but there’s so much history in every part of Italy I could find so much anywhere. And after reading Joseph Brodsky’s Watermark I definitely want to visit Venice.
