Day 4203: Parades

Because of uncertainties and concerns about the upcoming USA election in November, parades of worried thoughts keep passing through my mind.

To distract myself, I’ve been focusing on things I can control, like choosing to attend a local July 4 parade yesterday. Also, while I was walking around my neighborhood before that parade, a new idea paraded through my mind: doing another concert of my original songs with all proceeds going to ActBlue, which supports Democrats in elections nationwide.

Are you ready for the parade of images in my blog post for today?

.

I’ll be working on National Workaholics Day, witnessing and trying to alleviate parades of problems in group and individual therapy.

Here’s what I find when I search for “parades” on YouTube:

.

I also find this about the return of Disney’s Main Street Electrical Parade, which I remember being entranced by 50 years ago.

.

I look forward to the parade of comments from my readers, including YOU!

I find myself in a minority of one on the marching bands. I mean, the first one is okay, but by the fifth one I’m pretty much marched out. Same with the twirlers. I like the *fact* that so many local schools and organizations are represented, but I don’t really enjoy the the actual representation. Skulking back to my lair now. Y’all just go on without me. I’m fine.

  4. The marching band ruled my school. Because so many of my friends were in the band the principals assumed I was in the band and I could roam the halls freely. I was always proud to see my friends on TV in prominent parades, including the Rose Bowl, but I have lingering guilt that I never joined the band.
