Day 4023: JOMO

Recently I saw this headline about JOMO (Joy of Missing Out).

I embraced JOMO by not reading the article, because the headline was enough.

Because I have so much Fear of Missing Out, I love the idea of JOMO. I practiced JOMO on Friday when I chose to stay home with my husband Michael rather than driving many miles to attend an Open Mic. I’ve also had JOMO for 10 days about not working.

Now I’m having JOMO about not writing any more before sharing my other images for today.

I have JOMO regarding holidays and observances for January 7.

Here’s what I find on YouTube when I search for JOMO.

I am having JOMO about neither watching nor sharing all the videos about JOMO on YouTube.

Thanks to everyone who did not miss out on this JOMO post, including YOU!

  1. My main goal for 2024 JOMO 🙂

  2. I experienced JOMO this morning, Ann, when I saw that the plow company had cleared our driveway overnight from this big snow event, and I won’t have to shovel it myself.

  3. I think that jomo is a very wonderful thing

  4. I was sad the first year I decided not to go to the Oregon Country Faire, but then I thought about the heat (of Oregon’s central valley in July), dragging my camping equipment up to my cohort’s designated camping area, the mosquitoes, and day-sleeping in a tent in the woods – and it was all okay. I did miss working Dragon Gate Security night shift and wandering back home with my friend Kassandra in the gray dawn hours, but she had died of a heart attack that summer and would not be there. I was relieved to stay home.

  5. I think I lean more naturally toward JOMO, but I’d like to refine the process–like an art! 😉

  6. I can’t think of a time when I’ve deliberately experienced JOMO but I see life as a series of trade-offs: doing something I enjoy means time I could have spent doing something I might enjoy just as much, but as long as I’m happy I’m not going to worry about what I might be missing.

  7. January is JOMO month.

  8. Jomo, now I like the sound of that! <3
