Day 3939: Universal

Because I facilitate therapy groups with diverse populations, I often wonder (and learn) about what’s universal.

Here’s a definition of “universal.”

.

Here are some universal quotes.

.

Here are my universal images for today.

.

National Grouch Day is easily universal, don’t you think?

Here’s what I find when I search for “universal” on YouTube.

I look forward to your universal comments, below.

Universal thanks to all who are here, now, including YOU.

  1. love is universal, though many forget this or act otherwise

  2. The home run in creativity is finding the universal chord that feels unique to each experiencing it, I’ve thought in my life, Ann.

  3. Love the quotes today Ann 💐

  4. I like the nod to the warm smile. Once upon a time I was at a housewarming party to which someone had guided a bunch of Russians. They arrived around midnight, already very drunk, and about an hour later decided to drive back home. Nobody could dissuade them, so they started off and soon ended up in a ditch. I was with those who went to investigate and found that among them was what I called at the time an old babushka woman – still think of her that way. No one seemed hurt, but she seemed very scared. Not knowing any Russian at all, I just went up to her, smiled, and put an arm around her shoulders. When the aid car came, she wouldn’t let them see to her unless I was there. Seems kindness and maybe a warm smile went halfway around the world?

  5. When I was in college I had several professors tell me “Nothing is universal, you’ll realize that when you’re older.” Here I am now, older than some of them were then, and I still believe there are some things—like love and music—that are universal, even if different people experience them in different ways.

  6. I agree with Christopher and also…Joan is universal

  7. Music is universal- yes, that was my immediate thought -along with Longfellow! An example of universal music for me is Brahm’s Lulllaby … I bet mothers world-wide have hummed or sung that to their babies. You think?
