9/9 is my late father’s birthday. Here are my top 9 adjectives for him:
- Funny
- Generous
- Musical
- Religious
- Quick
- Outgoing
- Honest
- Talented
- Warm
People have told me I’m like my father, (even though I’m not religious on this 9/9). Earlier today, I thought of my dad when I watched the TED Talk “What if music could find someone you’ve lost?” by Steven Sharp Nelson.
.
Here’s a photo of me with my dad, which I I’ve shared on previous 9/9’s.

.
My dad really liked our cat Tuffy and I think he would have loved my other creatures with 9/9 lives.

.
I don’t know what my dad would have thought of my latest song; maybe he would have given it at 9.
.
I wonder what my father would have thought and felt about the other images I have to share on this 9/9?!

.
I like how 9/9 is also Wonderful Weirdoes Day.
9/9 thanks to my dad and all the wonderful weirdoes who are sharing this day with me, including YOU!

That is an absolutely lovely picture of you and your dad! love it!
Thank you for this lovely comment!
Love that you had such a great relationship with your dad. Jealous of all who did. My dad was stubborn (like me), quick to judge, could be cruel, without meaning to, with his words (maybe too often also like me?). Also stood up for me when others judged harshly. I was in York, England when I heard he had died – no need to rush back, a family gathering was planned for later – Bates is a Yorkshire name, so I spent the day walking the walls. Meant to only think kind thoughts, but ended up arguing with him, as I always did. Which was suitable, in its way. Googling September 9th, I find this. 1947 – First case of a computer bug being found: A moth lodges in a relay of a Harvard Mark II computer at Harvard University.
Thanks for sharing all that, Barbara.
I feel that you embody a lot of those qualities your father had and so does Joan. Cats may not seem religious but I think they have a philosophy that’s all their own. It’s also wonderful that your father was musical and so are you—a new song is always something to celebrate and neither early nor late.
Thanks for embodying so many qualities I appreciate, my friend.
I love the photo of you and your dad, Ann. It’s absolutely precious. My dad also had a September birthday, and I have been thinking of him a lot lately. I am intrigued with the TED talk suggesting music as a vehicle to finding those we’ve lost. I need a quiet place with a little privacy…and then I’m all in for that one. Thank you! ♥️
I love your comments, Debra.
I really like how much Aaron resembles your dad, Ann!!! Yes, three exclamation points worth.
I really like that you see that in him, my friend!!!
cool your dad’s birthday is on 9-9! I think he’d be proud of you for all you’ve achieved!
That is so cool of you to say, Carol Anne!
