To battle my perfectionism about singing, I’m trying something new: I’m going to deliberately miss notes when singing in front of my musical husband and son.
My son will be trying something new when he starts his PhD program in mathematics next month and we’ll both be trying something new when we travel to Halifax, Nova Scotia, next week to get him settled in his new residence.
There’s always a chance for trying something new.

.
Consider trying something new on Break the Monotony Day (and every other day)!
Here’s “trying something new” on YouTube:

Now I’m trying something new by typing a simple thanks to YOU.
Joan sure is one photogenic cat, Ann. And Harley ain’t bad for a shy guy, either.
You ain’t bad either, Mark.
most things are worth trying at least once, and if not as expected, or if it’s a fail, no harm, no foul. then you know one thing that you do not want to do.
Thanks for this new and inspiring comment, my friend.
I hope that Aaron loves doing his PhD in mathematics! That sounds like so much fun. BTW, I have relatives there, let me know if we can help him at any time.
(Although they are actually visiting my province until the 2nd.)
That is so kind of you, Maureen! I will let Aaron know.
My daughter is doing something new by going to school to become a therapist. My son is doing something new by putting together a knee roller, because he needs to keep from putting pressure on a foot with a small wound that won’t heal (he’s diabetic), and I’ll be doing something new-ish by doing my first ironing of the summer season. With any luck, my last.
Thanks for sharing all those new things, Barbara.
I applaud your new efforts, Ann. I like to change direction frequently. I have read so many books affirming that emphasizing resilience by making even very small changes in our daily habits boosts our health, and not just our mental health. I hope you have a great trip to Nova Scotia and that Aaron gets off to a great start in his PhD program.
Thanks for your kind support always, my good friend.
