Day 3881: Boomers

Yesterday, on Baby Boomers Recognition Day, this Boomer asked a question about Boomers.

.

Those answers about Boomers inspired me to start writing this song:

©️Ann Koplow, 2023

Because I’m a Boomer with many ideas and limited time, maybe that’s just a stand-alone poem.

Do you see signs of Boomers in my other images for today?

.

This Boomer, on Bad Poetry Day and Serendipity Day, is resolving to never give up.

When I search for “boomers” on YouTube, I find this …

… and this:

Thanks to all who are visiting with this Boomer here and now, including YOU.

  1. I’ve earned my opinions and my short bouts of grumpiness about this and that, Ann. Also, I still listen to what others think, too. I’ll own my Boomer membership card, yes, indeed.

  2. lol at the george carlin video!

  3. i’m proud to be a boomer and bang my drum loudly, on an as-needed basis.

  4. Aggravating idealism attached to strong opinions about everything…and 20 old timer stories for every occasion. Oh, that’s just this Boomer! Want to hear a story?

  5. Debbie T

How do the cats not knock all those lovely breakable items from your display shelves?!

  6. I am not a Boomer. Born in 1943, I tell Boomers how it really was in the good old days. 🙂

  7. In Australia you can recognize a boomer by the way they hop and also the pouches they carry they’re young in. They’re also known as “kangaroos”. I think they’re wonderful but I also treat them with respect, which seems to work well with all boomers.

  8. I’m not a boomer and my children (1965 and 1967) just missed it. We celebrated Pinot Noir Day in our house!

  9. Fascinating, the divide in impressions of boomers. I’m a boomer who became a hippie and never stopped seeking political change, being involved in environmental issues, marching for causes, etc. and all of my friends have always been that way too. Not just the ones from those days, but everywhere I’ve lived I’ve always gravitated toward people who stayed hippies. And then I hear others talk about how rich and selfish we are and how we caused of all today’s troubles, as if we aren’t the ones who marched, petitioned, contacted Congress-people, etc. to get the EPA, women’s rights, end Viet Nam, etc. There was a big enough divide between “freaks and greeks” on my college campus, I know there are people my age who belonged to a sorority, made and/or married into money, etc., never participated in an activity for social benefit in their lives… I just never hung out with those people.

  10. Me too!
