Day 4949: Verisimilitude

The word of the day is Verisimilitude.

.

Because of Artificial Intelligence, verisimilitude is quite the issue these days.

Speaking of Artificial Intelligence, I’m going to ask ChatGPT to use verisimilitude in some sentences.

.

In this 4949-day-old blog, I always describe events that really happened (with words and images), and I hope they leave you with a feeling of verisimilitude.

Is there verisimilitude in my images for today?

To maintain the verisimilitude of giving credit where credit is due, I shall reveal that my friend Joe sent me this image yesterday.

Not to brag, but sometimes my images align to give the verisimilitude of research and planning.

Here’s what I find when I search for “verisimilitude” on YouTube.

.

Is there verisimilitude in my daily gratitude for you?

Day 4879: I’ve Done My Best

Last week, a patient I’ve done my best with told me about a useful mantra they had created:

I’ve done my best

I’ll let the universe do the rest.

For years, I’ve done my best at

  • blogging,
  • psychotherapy,
  • parenting,
  • music,
  • humor,
  • taking pictures,
  • connecting with others, and
  • being a thoughtful citizen of the world.

It’s nice to think of the universe doing the rest. That doesn’t mean I’ll stop

  • blogging,
  • psychotherapy,
  • parenting,
  • music,
  • humor,
  • taking pictures,
  • connecting with others, and
  • being a thought citizen of the world,

but it does take some pressure off.

I’ve done my best to introduce my images for today.

I’ve done my best with my old student Chris Delyani, who’s done his best with his latest novel.
I’ve done my best jogging and now that I’m dealing with health restrictions I’ll let the universe do the rest.

.

I’ve done my best finding another great YouTube video for the day:

.

I’ve done my best and now I’ll let my gratitude do the rest.

Day 4779: Powerful

I saw this powerful pronouncement at the supermarket yesterday:

.

While this was an attempt by a powerful corporation to sell a product …

.

… I choose to take it as a powerful reminder that I am powerful. And I need to use what power I have to help remove powerful and awful people from their positions of power.

What is the most powerful image in my blog today?

.

There are several powerful observances on the list today. I love that powerful resistance is manifesting in Texas on Texas Day.

.

Here’s what I find when I search for “powerful” on YouTube:

.

Thanks to all the powerful people who are here for this powerful post, including YOU!

Day 4576: New Conversations

Every week, I have new conversations with my old friend Jeanette that help sustain me. Yesterday, our new conversations included her sharing her artwork currently on display at the DC Arts Center.

.

Then I had new conversations with new friends at a demonstration in Newton.

.

New conversations have revealed a crazy coincidence: my new friend on the left in that photo is the sister of a fellow group therapist I’ve know for years.

In many new conversations I’ve quoted the comedian Steven Wright: “It’s a small world, but I wouldn’t want to paint it.”

Should we have new conversations about any of the images in today’s blog post?

.

Today I am going to embrace my geekness by having a new conversation with ChatGPT about setting up a home recording studio.

Here’s what I find when I search for “new conversations” on YouTube.

.

In that TED talk, Charlie Duhigg suggests we start new conversations with strangers by asking and answering this question:

.

My answer to that new-conversations starter is last week, in front of my husband Michael. But I have no compunction about crying in front of others, including my groups and ChatGPT!

What new conversations might we start in the comments section, below?

Thanks to all who help me have new conversations every day, including YOU!

Day 4569: Embrace your journey

Yesterday, my journey included traveling to Newton, Massachusetts to sing protest songs at a demonstration, after which I bought shoes with the slogan “Embrace Your Journey.”

.

While I was still smarting from a critical (but cleverly worded) comment about my appearance at a rally the week before …

.

… I still managed to embrace the journey. And people at the Newton protest embraced me and my songs — they asked me to come back next week and also attend a demonstration in Needham. And one woman, who embraced me with a hug, asked if I did house concerts!

So maybe I’m not mercifully free of the ravages of talent. In any case, I’ll embrace the journey.

Please embrace your journey through the rest of my images for today.

.

Here’s what I find when I search for “embrace your journey” on YouTube.

.

Thanks to all who help me embrace my journey, including YOU.

Day 4567: What are people going to do?

What are people going to do now that the USA Republicans have passed a terrible bill that Trump will sign into law?

I’m going to resist.

Here’s another version of my protest song on TikTok.

.

What are people going to do on the 4th of July?

.

What are people going to do about my other images for today?

.

Here’s what I find when I search for “what are people going to do?” on YouTube.

.

What are people going to do with my gratitude for you?

Day 4564: Spend time on what matters most

Because there is so much I want to do during the years I have left, it’s sometimes difficult to prioritize; therefore, advice like “spend time on what matters most” is very helpful.

.

I saw that sign yesterday at work, where I spend time on what matters most by offering immediate access to mental health support with my Coping and Healing groups.

This past weekend, I was able to spend time on what matters most by performing at a women’s rights rally. Here’s a video of that performance:

.

This July 4, if there is a protest near where I’ll be with friends on the Cape, I will try to spend time on what matters most there, too.

Now, let’s spend time with what matters most in today’s images.

.

Every day, I spend time on what matters most by creating this blog for me and YOU.

Day 4474: Are we having fun yet?

I am having fun in Italy, even though I’m very aware that many people in the world are not having fun.

.

Even though I didn’t get much sleep last night waiting for Senator Cory Booker to break the record for the longest floor speech ever in the Senate and for the returns from the special elections in the USA, I still plan to have fun today on our last full day in Italy.

Are you having fun yet?

Thanks to all those who help me have fun, including YOU.
