What day is it today? It’s a day when it’s snowing/sleeting/raining (again!) on a Monday, the day I have to go into work to do group and individual therapy.
What day is it today? Can you tell from my images?
.
Here’s what I find when I search for “what day is it today?” on YouTube.
I hope that clears it up.
What day is it today? It’s another day when I express my gratitude to YOU!
Yesterday, on National Peculiar People Day, this peculiar person attended a protest of peculiar and dangerous actions committed by the peculiar people running my peculiar nation.
I returned to the second parking lot to find that my car had been towed,
I called SpotHero and was told that the phone rep had told me to park in the wrong spots,
I spoke to the police and the tow company who were kind of scary,
I took a Lyft to go to the scary towing company,
I had a very interesting conversation with the scary owner of the tow company which ended in my giving him my “Singing Therapist Card” and comparing IQ’s, and
I cried at dinner with Michael as I told him about my day.
Yesterday, I attended the Labor Day protest march in Boston where I saw many signs of the times.
Members of a metal-workers union. Governor Maura Healey!
.
.
I went to the protest with my ukulele, my signs of the times, and a plan to sing my protest songs if I could. However, I got distracted by all the great signs, the competing music, and running into several people I know, including a classmate from college.
However, I played “You Don’t Scare Me” for some organizers of the weekly protest in Cambridge and they loved it, so a sign of the times is that I’ll be attending one of the Cambridge protests in the near future.
Do you see other signs of the times in this blog?
.
Here’s what I find when I search for “signs of the times” on YouTube.

Thanks to all who are here for these signs (and songs) of the times, including YOU!
Every week, I have new conversations with my old friend Jeanette that help sustain me. Yesterday, our new conversations included her sharing her artwork currently on display at the DC Arts Center.
.
Then I had new conversations with new friends at a demonstration in Newton.
.
New conversations have revealed a crazy coincidence: my new friend on the left in that photo is the sister of a fellow group therapist I’ve know for years.
In many new conversations I’ve quoted the comedian Steven Wright: “It’s a small world, but I wouldn’t want to paint it.”
Should we have new conversations about any of the images in today’s blog post?
.
Today I am going to embrace my geekness by having a new conversation with ChatGPT about setting up a home recording studio.
Here’s what I find when I search for “new conversations” on YouTube.
.
In that TED talk, Charlie Duhigg suggests we start new conversations with strangers by asking and answering this question:
.
My answer to that new-conversations starter is last week, in front of my husband Michael. But I have no compunction about crying in front of others, including my groups and ChatGPT!
What new conversations might we start in the comments section, below?
Thanks to all who help me have new conversations every day, including YOU!
I went to two No Kings protests in Massachusetts yesterday that were very well attended, despite the rain.
Here is a quote from an Axios article about yesterday’s No Kings protests throughout the USA:
At both No Kings protests I attended we stood at intersections with our signs and there was so much horn honking in solidarity that it was difficult for people to hear my protest song “You Don’t Scare Me.” No kings and no noise will ever stop me; people who could hear my song liked it and even sang along. Somebody at my second No Kings protest told me, “I asked AI to write a protest song last night and it was pretty good but yours is better!”
Here are the images I collected on No Kings Saturday.
