Day 4761: Chill

These days, there is a chill in the air — in the beautiful city of Minneapolis and elsewhere.

What ICE is doing is chilling and the world can see residents trying to chill while also protecting their neighbors, lest they set off the heat of more violence.

Yesterday, my manager asked how she could help me from being too harsh on myself in certain situations and I told her to just say “Chill.”

Shall we all chill as we look at my images for today?

.

Here’s what I find when I search for “chill” on YouTube:

.

Thanks to all who help me chill during these chilling times, including YOU.

Day 4251: Poets

On Poet’s Day, my son and I discussed William Carlos Williams’s poem about a red wheelbarrow as we looked at scenery that would inspire many a poet.

.

On our tour bus, the driver talked about black bears and grizzly bears, which reminded me of the poem/song lyrics I wrote about bears a year ago. After I showed it to her during lunch, she asked me to read it to all the passengers on the bus in the afternoon.

After a poetic dinner …

… I asked a question about poets on Twitter.

.

Here’s the amazing poet Amanda Gorman on Poet’s Day at the Democrat National Convention:

.

I wonder what poets we will encounter today.

.

Thanks to all who are here for this poets post, including YOU!

Day 3014: Should we be concerned?

When I read the news and witness people sharing loss, grief, and trauma in therapy, I often wonder “Should we be concerned?”

Should we be concerned that it’s difficult to know what we should be concerned about?

Should we be concerned about things we can control and/or things we cannot control? Should we be concerned that it’s difficult to know what we can control and what we can’t?

Should we be concerned that so many awful things — including racism, sexism, ageism, misogyny, classism, homophobia, transphobia, sizeism, denial, hypocrisy, greed, and shortsightedness — are in our system?

Should we be concerned about my images for today?

Should we be concerned about the Daily Bitch?

Should we be concerned that when I search YouTube for “should we be concerned” I see many concerning things ?

Here‘s “I’m Concerned” by the Pistoleros, with the late Arizona, USA, music legend Lawrence Zubia.

I’m concerned about what you’re concerned about.

Many thanks to all who help me share my concerns every day, including YOU.

Day 2943: It’s a new day in America

It’s a new day in America.

.

It’s a new day in America, with people who renew.

It’s a new day in America, and I’m so grateful to all of you.
