Day 4966: You’re not alone

Yesterday, in my Coping and Healing groups, two new members said that the group was already helpful to them because they realized “you’re not alone.”

Over and over again, I’ve witnessed the healing power of discovering you’re not alone.

I hope my images today show that you’re not alone.

.

Looking at that list, I’m realizing “you’re not alone” regarding particularly preposterous packaging.

“You’re not alone” are words I included in the lyrics for my song “Triggers.”

.

Here’s what I find when I search for “you’re not alone” on YouTube:

You’re not alone if you appreciate that TED talk by Jonny Sun.

Thanks to all who help me realize “you’re not alone,” including YOU!

I’m mostly alone and I like it. Of course, thanks to all my friends in Seattle and in the Deadhead world I’m never entirely alone. And my son lives here too. And my daughter, who turned 50 last year, commiserates with me about aches and pains (we have hurting hands). So all I have to do is type and send, and someone gets back to me. My friend Emily in Phoenix, who assured me that the ATT store would surely put my phone right, and how right she was. Oh, and speaking of tech issues, my son sent me a video and I told him it had no sound. Yes, it did, he insisted. Turned out the issue was in my settings where my computer had unaccountably switched my sound settings from one to another. I switched it back and voila! But what the ????? Did some rogue AI mess with my sound settings?

Wife and I lived in Everett for 20 years. We were never alone.
We miss it but do not miss the traffic.

Everett – the western end of US 2, which also runs through Iron Mountain, MI (just north of WI). I’ve driven the eastern bit between Bangor ME (home of old school friend) to Burlington, VT (favorite brother). Wanted to drive the entire western bit when I moved back here, but my son had a toothache and didn’t want to suffer any more than he had to while driving the vast wasteland of nothing to see in Montana and North Dakota.

      • It’s nice to see that you’re not alone.

I want to be around friends and family, but people annoy me. I comment that no one calls me or otherwise tries to contact me. I spent so much of my early life reaching out to them to let them know they were appreciated and wanted in my life; now they cannot be bothered.
Oh, 58 and I fully understand people have their own lives to live. I am not so narcissistic that I need to be in their lives. It is just amazing how I tried to include people in my life, but they do not reciprocate. Seems I moved away, so I am out of sight and thus out of mind.
I think this is what Neil Postman is telling us in Technopoly. Since my presence does not offer the instant gratification of the internet or even TV, not even an afterthought. What’s that saying about gifts? It’s the thought that counts.
I do not really understand it.

Technological glitch. Cannot say I have had one lately. I am pretty astute and technologically savvy. As soon as I see something, I can clear it up. Of course, that is what I do for a living so… For me, its the analog glitching

  3. Someone I work with said the problem with the program we use for most of the library work is that it was designed by programmers with no library experience. I’ve been saying the same thing for years and it was nice to hear someone else come to the same conclusion.
