Day 4918: Identity

Yesterday, in my Coping and Healing group, people were talking about their senses of identity.

Because my senses of identity include group facilitator and blogger, I just looked up the meaning of “identity.”

.

Can you identify different types of identity in my images for today?

That duck has the identity of mother!
My husband Michael has a new identity as a vegetable gardener!

.

I’m now embracing the new identity of rascal/scamp, because I knew today was New Identity Day when I started this post.

Here’s what I find when I search for “identity” on YouTube:

.

What are your thoughts and feelings about identity?

Thanks to all who are here for this identity post, including YOU!

  1. We have many parts to our identity and I’d say mine is: unique from everyone else

Long identified as pagan, Deadhead, Blue Mooner, Democrat, hippie, barstool intelleckshul, writer. Now adding “old” to all of those identities. I’ve decided that anything after 80 is officially “old.” If I live long enough, I may decide that anyone in their 80’s is a youngun.

  3. a wonderful post Anne! xoxo

  4. My favorite Simpsons episode is the one with John Waters. At one point Homer says “Queer! That’s what you like to be called, right?” And Waters replies, “Well, that or John.” It’s a funny line but I think it also sums up how I treat other people’s identities: I let them tell me who they are and I respect that.
