When Donald Trump was re-elected President last week, I felt despair about his coming to power again during my aging, perhaps final years. I worried how his actions would be aging and hurting those I love and also my country.
Because I am aging, I felt exhausted and defeated. Since those awful elections results have been aging for all of us, I’ve regained some of my energy and natural optimism.
I refuse to let these people ruin my aging years and I pledge to resist the coming regime and to protect those who are most vulnerable now.
Do you see aging in my images for today?

When I search for “aging” on YouTube, I find this …

Thanks to all who help me while I am aging, including YOU! 💙

I think you can write a song that represents us, Ann. I have begun thinking of us as the 49 Percenters. We can stay strong. Wouldn’t that make a great T-shirt for your collection?
I’m thinking of writing a protest song, Mark, and thanks for the suggestions!
We need you more than ever, Ann

Love you too, Maureen.
I’ve grown to love aging, even with all the aches and pains and accidents that left me unsteady on my feet – I could do without the little stabbing pain in my left wrist, however, which is threatening to mess with my ability to lift my tea cup to my lips one-handed. That’s a recent one. Workarounds-r-me. Which is one reason, perhaps, why I am growing out of my election-misery. You see, a Harris win might have made life a little too cozy for me, big picture-wise. I would have watched her administration with interest, expecting her to remain on the right side of history, so to speak. TFG’s ascension means that there are challenges ahead, perhaps even a dystopia to live through somehow. I don’t expect that it will affect me in my cozy little mostly white suburban community in the blue bubble that is Madison, WI, but as my darling daughter in Seattle reminds me in a cogent meme on Facebook. it’s not about me. It was never really about me.
Thanks for all your wisdom, Barbara.
I’m not sure how to process Trump’s re-election except to say that I hope I can use the wisdom of age to help those who are younger who will be dealing with the fallout, not just what’s to come in the short term, for years, maybe even longer.
I was thinking the same thing, Chris.
we need to stick together and encourage and support each other, while fighting for what we value and better days ahead.
Absolutely.
yup, I relate!
Thanks, Jan.
that’s the spirit, Anne! Never let them crush your spirit, or your optimism! X
Thanks for your spirit, Carol Anne!
