Day 4298: Hope

Yesterday, when I got to my office at the hospital where I work in-person on Mondays, I chose hope on the feelings chart on my door.

.

I hope we

  • accept all our feelings,
  • appreciate each precious moment,
  • support each other through difficult times, and
  • elect effective and empathic leaders.

Do you see hope in my other images for today?

.

Here’s what I find when I search for hope on YouTube:

.

Thanks to Jenny Mulks, my friends on Twitter, and all those who give me hope, including YOU!!

  1. I hope today is a beautiful day for you Anne! X

  2. On the question of who votes for TFG. I know folks in my cohort who relish the phrase, “Power to the People.” I used to ask them, “Which people?” Seems they assumed that “the people” were all like us. But, as I always liked to say, I have friends in low places. Had a very interesting conversation with the president of the Hell Bounders Motorcycle Clue on a rooftop in Green Bay one night. It involved a bottle of Jack Daniels. At any rate, we exchanged backgrounds – me in the civil rights movement in Chicago, he with some Wisconsin nazi sympathizers, which he claimed he left. They were no fun. But he told me about the people in the cutover, people on hardscrabble farms and in small towns, people resentful of black folks who were demanding rights. Not necessarily because they didn’t deserve them, but because here they were, free whites from the get go, who had never demanded anything from the government but who felt the government was out to tell them all what to do (guns were the least of it) and take their rights away.

When Hillary talked about the “basket of deplorables,” I think these people saw themselves. Hillary, having never likely hung out with MC presidents, thought this basket to be very small. But TFG ate them like candy. He still is.

  3. This morning I saw a daddy longlegs which reminded me of the Dali painting “Daddy Longlegs Of The Evening—Hope!” I don’t know what the future holds but seeing nature keep going still gives me hope.
