What do you think “ugh” means?
Here’s how I would use ugh:
Ugh! Our trip through Canada this month is being rerouted because of heartbreaking forest fires.
Ugh! I can’t believe that so many people in the USA support mean, selfish, greedy and vindictive leaders.
However, a lovely young person I know uses ugh differently, as you can see in this text message:

.
Yesterday, when I was scoping out a local selection of greeting cards (ugh! I do that so often), I saw this card:

.
Ugh! Maybe ugh now has two meanings.
However, when I search definitions of ugh online, I can’t find any double meanings.

.
I don’t think that my young friend is annoyed, disgusted or upset with my cats. Ugh! I happen to know she loves cats.
Ugh! I wonder if I should ask her about it?
Ugh! I’m so used to thinking that I might be doing the wrong thing, that I actually had the thought that my friend might say “ugh!” if she discovers this blog post! However, if she does, that might actually be a compliment.
Ugh! That reminds me how I have invited people to take EVERYTHING as a compliment, as a way to combat the negative messages in our heads.
Do any of my images today make you say “ugh”?

.
Ugh! I don’t like Duran Duran, I do love S’mores, and I can’t be lazy today because I’ll be working on my live album of original songs.
Here’s what I find when I search for “ugh” on YouTube:
Ugh! I look forward to your comments, below.
Ugh! Imagine if I forgot to thank everyone who is here for these blog posts!

Ugh! They’re selling Thanksgiving cards in August!
I can’t imagine the positive acronym for UGH but maybe that’s because I haven’t had my second cup of coffee yet, Ann.
Ugh, I don’t drink coffee, Mark.
Ugh is how I feel about Tampon Tim – and you can take that any way you want to. Speaking of tampons, LOL. At the grocery store yesterday, I noticed a woman in a go-cart (what I call the little mechanized carts for the handicapped) – just ahead of her was a man I assumed to be her husband, with a grocery cart full of groceries. She was directing him to another item in the aisle. I glanced at the go-cart grocery bin. There was one item. A box of Tampax.
Ugh is how I feel about people who are trying to denigrate the Democrats and thanks for the story, Barbara.
I wonder about the correct pronunciation of “ugh.” I’ve always said “oo” — saying the u as in fugue. But lately I’ve seen videos where people say “uch” with the u as in fudge and the ch being guttural as in Hebrew
I say it with a short “u” ( like fudge”) and a hard g. Ugh.
ugh stands for
‘United Groundswell (of) Hope’
in my book.
Utterly Generous and Happy.
Ugh, the list of books people love and reread several times included so many I love and have reread. I’m saying “ugh” because there’s not enough time to read new books and reread ones I know and love.
Ugh, I get it, Chris.
Oh no! If your trip has been redirected, where will it now take you?
It looks like we are going to go from Banff to Edmonton by bus and pick up the train there instead of in Jasper. As a result, there will be an extra day on the train. We’ll be showing up in Vancouver as planned.
I asked my son Aaron if he had a problem with spending six hours on a bus with me and he didn’t say “Ugh.”
The last time I said, “Ugh!” it was because we had a dead mouse in our car’s air conditioning system. The smell would make you say, “Ugh” too!! I’ve never heard “Ugh” used for any positive reason.
Ugh! A dead mouse!
