Day 4235: Kindness

When I was at the hospital yesterday working with people who haven’t encountered enough kindness in their lives, I saw this sign in a kind social worker’s office.

.

Be kind, to others and to yourself.

If people haven’t grown up with enough kindness, they might have trouble showing themselves kindness. That’s why I often give my patients this homework assignment: During this difficult time, be especially kind to yourself.

Do you see kindness in my other images for today?

.

I think it would be a kindness to my country if we elected people who would reduce the appalling amount of gun violence in the USA.

Here’s what I find on YouTube when I search for “kindness.”

.

Thanks to everyone whose kindness inspires me every day, including YOU!

Best moment of the Olympics yesterday: Simone Biles and Jordan Chiles bowing, kneeling on their silver and bronze platforms to Rebecca Andrade, on the gold platform, after receiving their medals. They said it was a spontaneous gesture – the three had been competing together and separately all week. More than an act of kindness.

  3. I had a PE teacher who always said, “Everybody plays, everybody wins.” Regardless of the outcome of any game the important thing was participation. I think that’s a philosophy that should be applied to all sports.
