Day 3925: Shutdowns

There’s been a lot of talk about shutdowns lately, so let’s look at two explanations of shutdowns.

.

Constant threats of shutdowns can cause people to shut down, as a form of self preservation.

.

While the U.S Government shutdown was averted yesterday, I was relatively shut down because of a strong reaction to the COVID-19 booster. Today, I feel much better and ready to share the rest of today’s images with you.

.

Too many choices can make me shut down, and not just because I’m an older person.

Here’s what I find when I search for “shutdowns” on YouTube.

.

Before I shut down today’s blog post, thanks to all who help me NOT shut down, including YOU!

  1. LOVE the squirrel! And I empathize with whoever said that too many choices made her shut down. And now I have some little (emphasize little) hope that a coalition of reasonable Republicans (there are some in Congress?) and Democrats can shut down the MAGA caucus. I just can’t seem to shut down hope.

  2. like Barbara below, I never shut down hope

  3. A physiologic shutdown reminds me of the joke about two guys photographing a lion. As it turns toward them one puts on a pair of running shoes. The other one says, “You think you can outrun a lion?” And the other says “Forget the lion, I just need to outrun you.”
This is also a picture I want to keep:

  4. I hope that everybody, Congress members and the citizens that elected them alike, realize and act upon the true meaning of the phrase we are all in this together before these next 45 days run out, Ann.

  5. Instead of the US government, let’s shut down all war and all hate and all negative rhetoric!!
