After encountering some sexism on Twitter yesterday, I made up two new words and posted them.

Several people appreciated those new words but one person got enranged (a new word that combines “enraged” and “deranged”) and accused me of bigotry.
I don’t have time to use many new words or old words in my blog post this morning because I’m taking an early ferry to get to the hospital on time. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so I hope these new images suffice.

Here’s what I find when I search YouTube for “new words”:

I have much thankitude for everyone who visits this blog, including YOU!

I am golfing today with my great friend visiting from Atlanta, Ann, and that combined with your question reminds me of the word we invented on the course together after countless poor shots. Floohbah!
My favorite made-up word is “eucatastrophe,” not coined by me but by J.R.R. Tolkien. It describes a catastrophe that turns out to have been necessary for a better thing to take place. Missing a plane that crashes is an easy example.
I like Uncommon Instruments Awareness day. Whenever I’m watching an orchestra concert, I look to see if there are any unusual instruments on the stage. Often there is an unknown piece of percussion, or a twisted up bass version of a woodwind or brass. I do image searches to try to identify them. I’m very aware of these oddities all the time, not just today.
love the two words you made up, they fit these situations perfectly. I made up a word for my blog in yesterday’s post about battling ants, when I said I ‘half-assedly) did something. I couldn’t think of any existing word to fit the situation, so I went with what came to mind.
I don’t have any new words today but I am trying to write something powerful using my ordinary words well.
I think people who are just here for the food porn should keep their opinions about other issues to themselves. And I don’t have a new word but rather an old word I’d like to see used more: “xenium”. It’s from the Greek and means “gifts, usually food, offered to a stranger”.
I appreciate your daily xenium.
You came up with great new words to describe these macho attitudes. However, Harley and Joan are the true heroes conveying universal language, devoid of all human attributes with their talismanic presence and Buddha-like actions!
