Because today is Dictionary Day, what’s your guess for what “corybantic” might mean?
Before you get all corybantic trying to figure that out, here’s the answer:

Yesterday, after I gave a presentation to the nurses at my hospital about my groups which help people be less corybantic in the midst of corybantic circumstances, the power at several Boston hospitals, including mine, went out for several hours. Lest you get corybantic about how that affected patient care, I’ll remind you that hospitals are equipped to deal with such things with emergency generators and back up plans. However, I momentarily got corybantic when I couldn’t access my office computer from home, but then I realized there were work-arounds for that so I could still schedule people for my two online patient groups.
And even though we were afraid that our cat Joan would become corybantic when we put antibiotic ointment in her eyes (wouldn’t you?), the burrito technique I described in yesterdays blog post worked!
I will say that even when I have a corybantic day, blogging and sharing my thoughts with you definitely reduces my corybanticy.
Do you see anything corybantic in my images for today?

How corybantic are you feeling now? Here’s what I find on YouTube when I search for “corybantic.”
Corybantic thanks to all who help me be less corybantic, including YOU!

Here’s to a placid Friday, Ann!
There is always some placid to be found in the corybantic, my helpful friend!
Yay for the cat burrito!
I create crocheted lap blankets for a local charity which distributes them to rehab centers and Veterans’ facilities. I’ve made over 110 in the last 5-ish years.
Yay for you and your blankets, Debbie!
It sounds like a joyless diagnostic term for the joy I felt for years when the Dead took the stage and I could start dancing.
Thanks for bringing the joy, Barbara.
I wonder Why the power went off at more than one hospital at the same time? That is definitely corybantic-inducing!
Your long list of conditions is worrying. There are a couple of words there that I don’t know even.
My list is not as corybantic as it seems — some of those have resolved (e.g., heart failure because of the 2016 heart valve replacement surgery). Thanks for caring, Maureen. 💕
I’m glad the burrito technique worked. And also so happy to learn the word “corybantic”. Of course I had to run to the OED which told me it derives from “Phrygian worship of Cybele, which was performed with noisy and extravagant dances.”
Spring is the perfect time to get corybantic.
I am corybantic with joy about your comments, Chris!
Here’s to the exact opposite of a corybantic weekend, dear Ann. Exhale!
Back at you, my calming friend!
Oh Corybantic Joan,
Why are you so possessed,
What do you rebel against?
Eye treatments and thanks for asking, Maria!
I get corybantic listening to my grandson, Nick’s rock band, The Fluffy Machine. Oh my, it’s enough to make anybody go stark raving mad… but they’re just finishing a tour in England and their fans go corybantic loving it!!
That’s wonderful, Jan!
