Day 3319: The day before

On the day before my 69th birthday, I’m sharing some images from the day before this one.

Soon it will be the night before my birthday, so here’s “The Night Before” by the Beatles.

I’m grateful I’ve reached the day before yet another birthday and I’m grateful for you!

  1. A good dose of Beatles is wonderful medicine for me.

  2. Happy day-before-your-birthday, Ann! I am reading a detective-ish novel by a new-to-me writer I discovered in my library’s racks, D.P. Lyle. The protagonist is a former Major League Baseball pitcher gone reluctant private eye. I like it!

  3. Happy Early Birthday!

I need to order the Raskin book, which your post reminded me I haven’t yet done…. As for available books to read – and I have a pile that beckons and mocks me since I’ve neglected it of late – I think it’s time to take out my boxed set of Maus books and reread Art Spiegelman’s telling of his father’s Holocaust experience and his efforts to understand how that imnpacted on his relationship with his father.

    • Thank you, Doug! And the Maus books are incredible.

      • They are a powerful statement about a terrible time and its aftermath. One (I at least) never really thinks about how the future families of survivors might also have to deal with the survivor quirks and demons.

  4. Is that “less murdery” cat actually reading “To Kill a Mockingbird?” What a hoot. You have a great eye for finding these little gems. Thanks for posting them for us. And happy early birthday! 🎂

  5. Happy birthday tomorrow, and thank you for the cat pics and humour. Joan seems healthily plumper these days.

Here is a happy story for you: An 8-Year-Old Wrote a Book and Hid It on a Library Shelf. It’s a Hit. https://nyti.ms/3GeRtkR

  6. as I always tell my kinder, one more sleep and when you wake up it will be your birthday and you will be a new number! sweet dreams and these are your last four hours of 68. )

  7. Happy pre-birthday day, Ann! How are you liking the Raskin book? I heard him interviewed on NPR the other day and found it fascinating. I am currently reading ‘Crying in H Mart.’ Great book.
