For the first time since I started blogging eight years ago, I feel like I got nothing today.
Maybe I feel like I got nothing because I’m
- tired,
- overwhelmed,
- sick of bullies, injustice, and conspiracy theories,
- done with the coronavirus (even though the coronavirus is not done with us), and
- having some reactions to my first vaccine, including soreness and fever.
I may feel like I got nothing but I got these images to share with you:

Even when I feel like I got nothing, I got a lot.
Darius Rucker performed “I Got Nothing” at the White House seven years ago, and that’s something.
Even if you feel like you got nothing, consider leaving something in the comments section, below.
I got nothing but gratitude for all who help me blog every day, including YOU.

I think you’ve got it down, Ann.
It’s great to get down with you, Mark.
I considered sharing this, so THANK YOU!
“Freedom’s just another word for nothin’ left to lose
Nothin’, it ain’t nothin’ honey, if it ain’t free
And feelin’ good was easy, Lord, when he sang the blues
You know feelin’ good was good enough for me
Good enough for me and my Bobby McGee”
I got something! Had my first Covid vaccine today.
That’s good Peter- Did you get a reaction as well?
None so far. My wife had hers yesterday and has had no after effects whatsoever.
So glad you got nothing in reaction!
Ann I’m sorry to hear about your reaction to the shot. What do you do? Take Tylenol?
Just suffered through it. I’m fine now. Thanks for your concern and caring, which is something!
I hope the remedy doesn’t turn out to be worse than the disease and that you have a very happy birthday. Clearly there’s something to your nothing, and I’m going to misquote Gertrude Stein, another wise Jewish woman, although one who was never a mother, and say, there’s a there there.

Nothing better, my friend.
I got something. Harley!:

Harley says nothing but that is something, Maria!
And that’s a good one, Ann.
I haven’t had anything for months! My last blog was October. But it’s nice to come around and read your good blog. That’s something!
It’s nothing but wonderful to see you here, Lisa!
one of my favorite little books, that I’ve given as a gift a number of times, is called. ‘the gift of nothing.’ it is so amazing. sounds like you already have the gift of nothing, so no need to give your that for your birthday. it’s always something….)
“A wise doctor once wrote…” Still laughing. Once, while looking at an illegible prescription my pulmonologist just wrote, I showed it to his nurse as soon as the doctor turned his back. I didn’t have to explain the joke to her, and we both laughed, discretely of course. That particular doctor and his ER doctor wife just retired in December. They plan to ride their bikes from Disney World in Orlando to Disneyland in Anaheim. What a plan! I’ll miss him and his care.
As always, Doug, you give us so much with your comments!
I enjoy stopping by for your insights and the comments of others.
I’m pleased you’ve had you first shot and I hope the side effects don’t last long
The side effects are down to nothing today, my friend.
Good

I am so sorry you had a reaction to your immunization, Ann. I am sure you’re fine now, but still…
You have so much empathy, Debra, and that is really something!
