What does empowerment mean to you?
To me, empowerment means positively realizing and using personal power.
To the dictionary, empowerment means this:
em·pow·er·ment
əmˈpouərmənt/
noun
authority or power given to someone to do something.
“individuals are given empowerment to create their own dwellings”
the process of becoming stronger and more confident, especially in controlling one’s life and claiming one’s rights.
“political steps for the empowerment of women”
Empowerment can be a powerful matter of survival, especially when balances of power are powerfully misaligned.
Do you see empowerment in the pictures I was empowered to take yesterday?

I now empower myself to express gratitude to all who helped me create this Empowerment post and to you — of course! — for being here, now.

Is that a painting of a loaf of bread floating above a pat of butter in a cornfield? 🙂
I am empowered to tell you that your perception is powerfully correct.
Self-empowerment is essential!
And that sign — Well behaved women seldom make history — has inspired another piece for my #ShePersisted series! Thank you! 🙂 Stay tuned…
Your thoughts are essential and inspiring, Louise. Thanks for empowering yourself and empowering others.
Great post today. Loved the video.
Great comment! I loved it.
I have to always remind myself that there are two aspects of empowerment: knowledge and action. The first is easy. I find, though, that sometimes just acknowledging the difficulty of acting can be empowering in itself.
Thank you for another thoughtful and empowering comment.
Roar! Inspirational blog!
Roaringly inspirational comment!
You rock Ann!
YOU rock and empower, Val!
Bloody great post, I often do not feel empowered but things are improving as I grow wiser and more comfortable with who I am
I find your growth very empowering, Joanne.
I’ve never found it problematic to be here.
It’s empowering and powerful to find you here, Colleen.
Thank YOU Ann.
Empowerment is a dream many have and few live. Empowerment is believing in yourself, and doing what you think matters. I am more empowered than I used to be, but unfortunately not as empowered as I should be.
I believe in myself and in you, Claudia! I hope you find that empowering.
Tell Ann that the food definitely empowers me.

Thanks for the empowerment in your comments, Maria.
I like your definition. It reflects my own belief that it is freeing power people already have, not bestowing it.
I like your comment, Derrick!
My empowerment has been running on high since 11/9, and the best part is I’m not alone.
This comment is the best! <3
