Day 4955: Hard to Say

It’s hard to say why I haven’t released my song/poem “Hard to Say.”

.

When I was a kid with a heart condition it was hard to say “I have to go to the hospital.” It’s not hard to say “I have to go to the hospital” today, because I work at the hospital on Mondays.

At work, I listen to people share things that are hard to say, in group and individual therapy.

It’s not hard to say what inspired today’s blog post.

.

Sometimes it’s hard to say why I capture the images I do, but here they are.

It’s hard to say why this is happening to Michael’s tomatoes.

.

It’s hard to say how many comments I’ll get on this hard-to-say post.

You know what’s not hard to say? Thank you!

Day 3524: Thoughts

As soon as I wake up, the thoughts start.

“What do I have to do today?” “What do the cats need?” “Am I ready for my trip?” “Is my son okay?” “What am I forgetting?” “Who’s in danger?” “What might go wrong?” “Who hasn’t gotten back to me?” “What’s the next right move?” “Is the November election going to turn out the way I want it to?” “What’s going on with the climate?” “Where are the good people?” “Are we all doomed?” “What mistakes have I made or might make today?” “Who’s mad at me?” and “What would be helpful to blog about?”

What thoughts are in my images for today?

My thought, here and now, is that we all want someone to understand us.

Here’s what I find on Twitter when I search for “thoughts.”

.

Any thoughts about this answer to my question on Twitter “What’s in a cat’s brain?”

Feel free to express your thoughts in the comments section, below.

Finally, grateful thoughts for all who help me express my thoughts in this daily blog, including YOU.

Day 1826: Be nervous but don’t be afraid.

I’m nervous but I won’t be afraid of pointing out that this is my second blog post in a row where I’m telling my readers how to be. Yesterday, I quoted the sign “Be Visible” and today I’m quoting this, by graphic designer and artist Sam Lee.

On this last day of 2017, I’m doing my best to be nervous but not afraid of 2018.

Be nervous but don’t be afraid of today’s other photos.

A Zen cat I know (my son Aaron) recently told me: “Don’t be afraid of using more words in your posts, instead of relying so much on your photos.”  Every morning, I nervously resolve to write more words here but, somehow, my photos seem to say so much.   For example, I am nervous but not afraid of

  • IDs,
  • traffic,
  • running,
  • being extraordinary,
  • being chicken,
  • unlikely friendships, and
  • cats peeing on things.

For five years, this daily blog has helped me be nervous but not afraid of many challenges of life, including getting a mechanical heart valve

and moving to a new home by the sea.

Be nervous but don’t be afraid of expressing your thoughts and feelings in a comment, if you choose.

As usual, I’m nervous but not afraid of expressing how grateful I am to all those who help me create this blog and — of course! — to YOU.

Day 1825: Be visible

Yesterday, when I chose to be visible in Cambridge, Massachusetts with my son, this sign was visible.

Several years ago, I wrote and published  Day 609: Invisible, which can still be visible here.

These days I’m choosing to be visible, and there are visible advantages and risks of that choice. When you choose to be visible, there may be visible

  • attention,
  • criticism,
  • support,
  • pressure,
  • feedback,
  • help,
  • disappointment,
  • praise,
  • indifference,
  • understanding,
  • misunderstanding,
  • anxiety,
  • feelings,
  • mistakes,
  • surprises,
  • growth, and
  • expectations.

Are there expectations that more photos will be visible here?

Here’s “Let them Be VISIBLE” on YouTube:

Perhaps some comments will be visible, below.

I’m hoping that my gratitude will be visible to all who helped this post be visible and — of course! —  to YOU.
