Day 4498: The everyday moments of life

Yesterday, after picking up my new glasses in Lexington, Massachusetts, I received a message about the everyday moments of life.

.

Yes, let us seek joy in the everyday moments of life.

.

On World Healing Day, here’s what I find when I search for the everyday moments of life on YouTube:

.

Thanks to all who are here for the everyday moments of life, including YOU!

Day 4482: What makes you happy?

Yesterday, I did a mindfulness exercise where I invited people to focus on what makes them happy. Because our minds can automatically focus on what’s wrong or dangerous, it often takes effort and practice to think about what makes us happy (especially during unhappy times like these).

What makes you happy about my images for today?

.

The Daily Bitch makes me happy and so does “Happy” by Pharrell Williams.

.

What makes you happy, my friend?

Thanks to all who make me happy, including YOU!

Day 4218: Priorities

Last week in therapy, somebody expressed profound sadness about never being anybody else’s first priority.

Because one of my priorities is my work, I listened, validated her feelings, pointed out how we can’t control what other people do or feel, and asked if she were her own first priority. Then we discussed how she could prioritize herself better.

What priorities do you see in my images for today?

.

Living in the present is definitely one of my priorities.

Here’s what I find when I search for “priorities” on YouTube:

.

One of my priorities is music, so I’ll also share “Priorities” by Tyla:

.

Another one of my priorities is expressing gratitude, so thanks to all who are here for this Priorities Post, including YOU!

Day 4214: Breaking news

There’s been so much breaking news in our current pandemonium that’s been breaking people’s peace of mind.

As a therapist, I try to create safe spaces for people to discuss how to remain unbroken amidst all the breaking news — political and personal.

What breaking news do you see in my images for today?

.

I’m almost afraid to search YouTube for “breaking news” but here’s what I found:

.

I look forward to the breaking news in the comments section, below.

Thanks to all who help keep me going during all this breaking news, including YOU.

Day 4169: What has been making you smile?

What has been making you smile, dear readers?

I am smiling, here and now, because (1) I’m giving a concert of my original songs today in front of people I love and (2) I actually got some good sleep last night!

It will make me smile if my photos load easily into this blog post.

.

My friends, the lists of “holidays,” and The Daily Bitch Calendar have all been making me smile for many years.

Here’s what I find on YouTube when I search for “what has been making you smile?”

.

Thanks to all who have been making me smile, including YOU!

Day 4135: What are they saying?

Yesterday, I went to a group therapy demonstration where it was difficult to hear what the group members and the facilitator were saying. That bothered me until I realized that I could still learn a lot by taking in non verbal communication and other signals from those around me.

These days, life can be so confusing that I often wonder “what are they saying?” even when the words are quite clear.

What are they saying in my images for today?

.

Here’s what I find on YouTube when I search for “what are they saying?”

.

I also found this:

.

What am I saying at the end of every blog post?

Day 4120: Incredible

Before I launch into this “incredible” post, I shall find an incredible definition for you.

.

Let’s see if there is anything incredible, unbelievable, beyond belief, extraordinary, magnificent, and/or wonderful in today’s blog.

.

It’s incredible how many people are really depressed and anxious these days. I see a lot of these incredible people in my therapy groups and it’s incredible how powerful it is for them to realize that they are not alone.

Here’s what I find when I search for “incredible” on YouTube.

.

That’s an incredible interview of Paul Simon by Stephen Colbert.

Thanks to all the incredible people out there, including YOU!

Here’s what I find on YouTube when I search for “new holidays.”

.

Thanks to all those who help me find reasons to celebrate new holidays every day, including YOU!
