Day 4493: Becoming known

One of my priorities is becoming known for my open-access, attend-when-you-choose therapy group and also for my original songs.

What’s becoming known to me is how little I know about becoming known.

The best I can do for now is to keep doing what I love and to be aware of opportunities for becoming known. It’s also becoming known to me that I shouldn’t be too invested in becoming known, since that might interfere with the wonderful experience of getting to do what I love to do.

As I discover over and over again in my therapy groups, we all have a need for becoming known — not necessarily becoming famous but definitely becoming seen and recognized for our authentic selves.

As the news is now becoming known all over the world, I feel very sad about the death of Pope Francis. Pope Francis always seemed to be a good, empathic, and caring man, while others in positions of power have been becoming known as capricious, vengeful, and greedy.

(Which reminds me, I’m going to record my protest song “You Don’t Scare Me” today with hopes that it will becoming known.)

It’s now becoming known to me that Pope Francis requested another break with tradition for his burial place, which will be the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, the first place we visited last month when Rome was becoming known to us.

What’s becoming known in my other images for today?

When I search for “becoming known” on YouTube, I find this …

  1. I’m thankful for the care and love Pope Francis poured into our world, Ann. RIP.

    1. If it weren’t for my inability to believe in the actual existence of a guy in the sky, I would have turned Catholic long ago because (a) I love ritual, (b) I love a long traditional history, and (c) it seemed kinda like being pagan! 🙂 Also loved Pope Frank.
    2. On being known, I have also wanted to be known to a wider public because of my writing (3 novels, etc.), but I have also maintained that I am already known, famous even, as are we all, to our own groups and settings. I was once well known in the Blue Moon Tavern in Seattle, which made me proud. But I’m also the world’s worst publicist of my own stuff, so my wider circle remains a bit parochial.
  3. I’m also sad about the passing of Pope Francis and I hope he’ll be an inspiration to his successor.
Also today I was wearing some cheap wireless headphones. A guy looked at me and said “Those have to be attached to a Walkman.” When I showed him they were wireless he said, “You’re so cool, really going for a retro Marty McFly look.” I said “You’re talkin’ ‘bout my generation!” And he laughed. I’ve used that line so many times when someone made an ‘80’s reference and this is the first time someone laughed. Never stop trying.

  4. to be kinder to myself, I’ll keep trying to be a better sleeper
