Day 4416: Sorry

Even though my country is in the control of sorry excuses for leaders who aren’t sorry for wreaking widespread havoc, I still had a great birthday yesterday which included delicious food prepared by my husband Michael and my annual game of Sorry!

Michael was sorry that he couldn’t find the electric mixer to whip the egg whites and the cream, but he still managed to create wonderful chocolate soufflés as promised.

I’m not sorry to share all these images with you now.

The Daily Bitch never seems sorry about her behaviors. Maybe she should be in charge of the government.

Here’s what I find when I search for “sorry” on YouTube.

Thanks to all who are here for this sorry blog post, including YOU!

  1. glad you had a great birthday, in spite of all that’s going on –

  2. I am glad to hear you enjoyed your big birthday, Ann.

Michael’s homemade dessert looks amazing! And very appropriate gifts too! I’m glad you enjoyed Sorry! though I will say it is my least favorite game of all. Maybe because when I played as a child, the experience was coupled with my opponent’s taunting and gloating, not in a fun way. My favorite board games were Careers and The Perry Mason Game.

I’m still sorry I forgot to call my son on his 40th birthday (I was helping friends person a booth at a local fair), even though I had been boasting about him and talking about his upcoming birthday two days before. Can’t say for sure that he’s forgiven me yet. I’ll make sure to remember his 60th in two years! And I’m sorry I didn’t call my friend Caroline (fighting cancer) back when I found her message on my phone two days before she died. I was waiting until I thought I had time for our usual long conversations. And I’m sorry I didn’t take my kids to Disneyland. But that’s just an old family joke. (“Mom sucks. She didn’t take us to Disneyland.”) Michael couldn’t find the electric mixer? Get him a Kitchen Aid for HIS birthday. Those things take up a little space. Maybe see if they have a red one, just in case. 🙂

    • Michael rarely bakes, Barbara, so he doesn’t want a counter-top mixer, and he’s not sorry about not baking more. Thanks for sharing your experience, as always.

  5. Michael whipped egg whites for souffle by hand??? That is true love.

  6. I can’t think of a better board game combination than Sorry, soufflés, and Joan.

  7. Anne, Happy b-day! Hope you enjoyed all the great treats.
