Day 4362: Adulthood

In my late adulthood, I facilitate six groups a week for adults, who often discuss the physical and emotional pains of adulthood.

I share the Daily Bitch calendar with my group members and I think they will appreciate today’s comment about adulthood.

.

Here are some quotes about adulthood:

.

I wonder about those children too, since 75 million USA people who had reached adulthood voted to return a very dangerous non-adult back to power.

Do you see adulthood in my other images for today?

.

Here’s the first thing I find when I search for “adulthood” on YouTube:

Thanks to all those who are here for this adulthood post, including YOU!

  1. One of the most unexpected things, for me, about adulthood is being the parent of adults. I never understood until just now how amazing adults are! Similarly, when I became a parent I discovered how amazing kids are. Makes me wonder whether I was more amazing than I thought I was at the time.

I was musing on Facebook the other day, wondering if there was a large contingent of the voting public who were curious about this thing called “dictatorship” and thought maybe they’d like to try it out. This post, though, brings me back around to another reason for choosing the great child. He’s the bully on the playground, welcoming them into his gang, and telling them what to do. Just like mom and dad, only better. He’s for stealing all the cookies.

  3. I tried and don’t like adulthood. The problem is that if I leave it to others to take care of me, their idea of adulthood might be quite different than mine. So I’ll continue to act all grown up.

  4. One of my favorite shows when I was a child was You Can’t Do That On Television. Most of the cast members were kids like me but one of the adults was Abby Hagyard who played a mean but smart librarian and a scatterbrained mother, among other roles. I’d forgotten I’d created a Google alert for her until recently when I got a notification. I was afraid to read it, afraid she’d passed away. In fact she’d just gotten an award. Learning to deal with loss is part of adulthood but so is the occasional reminder that we can keep making the world better at any age.

  5. I still love the children’s lit section and collect the books

  6. I love historical fiction- Tudor England is my favourite period currently. The most surprising thing about adulthood for me is how much energy it takes to think about what we’ll eat every day. I have to plan the menus, buy the food, prep and cook the food, my other half does help with the first two but not the cooking. No-one ever told me about the food 😅

  7. I like my mind to relate to all ages, Ann, but oh the body mostly sticks to the later page of the calendar. Life sure is interesting.
