“What were you thinking?” is something I ask myself, judgmentally, way too often.
For example, yesterday I asked myself “What were you thinking?” regarding (1) items I did and did not pack for my 9-day Canadian trip with my son and (2) a reservation I made, without thinking things through, for a difficult-to-reach restaurant in beautiful Banff.
I am thinking that I need to be kinder to myself regarding my constant wish to do the best/right thing for myself and others.
What were you thinking when you read these words and looked at my images for today?

What were you thinking regarding how I might express my thanks and gratitude to you today?

Bucket list trip! I can’t wait to hear more about it. Where Can I Go From Here? sounds like a blog post title!
It was great but unfortunately the Rocky Mountain train trip was completely obscured by rain clouds. Oh well, the rain was good for the forest fires, so that was definitely consolation. Great to hear from you, Kathy!
Wondering why it wouldn’t let me “like” or respond to any of the comments above.
Although it did let me reply to my own. I was happy to see how many were watching the convention speeches. The first night was amazing!!
I’m thinking that the convention was amazing, even though I didn’t get to see it.
What is WordPress thinking?
Watching your pics from the train, got me thinking about my own trip, esp. the trip north to Churchill from Winnepeg. How there was nothing but woods, woods, woods as far as the eye could see, which wasn’t very far, since they came nearly up to the track. The time my friend John, who had hooked up his Garmin to his laptop, told me to get down here (I was on the top bunk, reading). I hopped down, didn’t see anything, and he just kept saying, “Wait for it, wait for it.” Until at last, he pointed excitedly out the window. “Look! A road!”
Nice!
Banff looks beautiful! I hope you have a way around. It also looks vast.
I am looking forward to seeing you in a few days. Alan and I are in the US with our grandkids for the Jump Start Kindergarten. We will head back and get there the night before you arrive, hopefully in time to change the sheets for your beds. (Our visitors from Japan had to extend their trip because of a typhoon and we left Canada 4 days before they did.)
Hope you can avoid wildfire smoke. It is tragic that the town of Jasper was devastated by a fire and your train won’t stop there.
I’m thinking that spending time with you, alan, and your family was the highlight of our trip, Maureen.
this sounds like an amazing trip and a journey I’d love to take
I love all the journeys you take, beth.
Banff looks so amazing I think the scenery could easily drive every other thought from your mind. Be kind to yourself because you deserve to be overwhelmed by the beauty of it.
I was kind to myself even though the weather on the two scenic tour days was very cloudy and overcast. Imaging what we were thinking when the guides kept saying things like, “The mountain that’s over there is one of the most spectacular to see even though you can’t see it at all. “
