Day 4083: Shouldn’t exist

Here’s something that shouldn’t exist, according to somebody:

That caught my eye yesterday, perhaps because I spend so much time, as a psychotherapist, hearing stories about things that shouldn’t exist, including child abuse, discrimination, physical pain, emotional pain, and social injustice.

What helps me and others deal with things that shouldn’t exist? Radical acceptance.

.

Do you see things in today’s blog post that shouldn’t exist?

.

Speaking of being annoying, I’ve noticed that the readership for this blog has been way down lately — does that mean this blog shouldn’t exist?

Here’s my answer: I blog primarily for my own self care and resilience during challenging times, so I work on radically accepting whatever happens when I send each daily post out into the world.

Here’s what I find when I search for “shouldn’t exist” on YouTube.

.

Maybe there are reasons why gratitude shouldn’t exist, but it always exists here!

  1. Still trying to parse the reasoning of Micki: She thinks TFG is irrational and frightening, and a liar. She also thinks Biden is a liar. Therefore, she is forced to vote for TFG. BUT Biden is neither irrational or frightening. That makes no sense. As for things that shouldn’t exist, I would nominate the current “Republican” party, which no longer seems to represent traditional American values at all, e.g. truth, justice and the American Way – which once seemed to read like the Boy Scout Law: “A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent.”

  3. My ukulele teacher has been encouraging me to accept mistakes which I think is a good thing. I have to accept that mistakes are inevitable but they provide an opportunity to do better next time.
