Day 3896: The Weird One

When I was a child with a heart condition that put me in the hospital and made me different from my peers in many ways, I often felt like the weird one.

These days, when I feel like the weird one, it’s a source of happiness and pride, not shame.

As I create my last blog post for my first trip to Halifax, which image is the weird one?

.

On World Beard Day, I’m glad my bearded and wonderfully weird son is going to be staying in Halifax, a city which seems to embrace the weird ones.

Here’s what I find when I search for “the weird one” on YouTube.

.

Thanks from this weird one to all the weird and wonderful ones out there, including YOU!

  1. “When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.” Hunter S. Thompson
    “Misfit power,” The Grateful Dead
MacBeth’s wyrd sisters: “The word “weird” comes from the Old English term “wyrd,” meaning “fate,” so we’re betting that they’re in some way associated with the three fates of classical mythology.” (Google)

  2. I didn’t see any images that struck me as weirder than the others, but they were all wonderful and quirky. I thought that the red chair illustration that said call Jacques you find it, no questions asked, was delightful and also unusual. I enjoyed all of your photos

I hope that Aaron loves his program at Dalhousie and that he learns, discovers, or disseminates some powerful and weird and wonderful math

  3. The vintage phone light is definitely unusual, but I don’t think it’s weird. I have a great deal of reluctance labeling anything or anyone as weird. I think that’s because I’m generally attracted to people who might fall into that category. Maybe I’m the weird one!

  4. I think the internet has allowed many of us to discover we’re not as weird as we thought. But that’s just made the weirder of us more creative.

  5. I love the ‘misfits’ and the unusual things in the world, and see them not a misfits, but the most interesting.

  6. It’s a wonderful day when you happen upon a bin of dollar records to shuffle through, Ann, a weird story to know, research or just plain make up attached to each.
