In almost every group therapy session, people talk about setting limits with others. Because so many of us are people pleasers, it’s difficult to say “no” without feeling guilty.

Here’s what I find when I search YouTube for “setting limits.”
Because I slept later than usual today, I need to be setting limits on how much time I spend on this blog post. Therefore, thanks to all who helped me create this “setting limits” post, including YOU!

I understand the feeling that the world just needs to go away. I get tired of the BS that is forced upon us every day. I need time for myself and the family. The world f’d itself up despite my best efforts, so perhaps it is time to just grab some popcorn and watch the chaos unfold.
Sounds good to me.
It is hard to set limits with people who really need you when they are vulnerable and there is little other help to be found. That is a conundrum.

As much as I say I find all creatures equally wonderful I have to confess that hagfish seriously test my limits.
We all have limits, Chris, and so do hagfish.
Have always had trouble setting boundaries, then a therapist told me that I needed to ‘watch the cords that I put in place, as they could become tethers that were not healthy.’ Have tried to remain mindful of that since then.
