Mindfulness — staying in the moment as much as you can — is healing, no matter how old you are.
Yesterday, over-50 me was mindful of people I love and the beauty around me.

I am mindful that today is National Mutt Day, but I’m still going to look for a shelter cat.
Here’s what I find on YouTube when I search for “mindfulness over 50.”
I’ll be mindful of any comments you leave, below.
Thanks to all who contribute to my daily mindfulness here, including YOU!

I will give Ellie B an extra hug for National Mutt Day, Ann. Aaron and Michael look pretty darn happy with those two mutts, I might say.
Thanks for celebrating these days with me, my friend! And give Ellie B. a hug for me, too.
I love the photos of Aaron and Michael and the dogs. I’m glad that Autocorrect doesn’t change photos on us! Someday that may happen.
And I’m glad Autocorrect didn’t change this lovely comment, Maureen!
I had a mug filled with coffee, one morning and the handle broke- it was a mess. Have a nice week-end, Ann
Thank you!
Hoping Harley finds a good friend is something I’m very mindful of, and how lucky I am to have you as a friend is also something I’m mindful of. I’ve also been very aware lately that we’re in a drought right now and earlier I saw my neighbor washing his car. I shared a bit of from Allan Sherman’s “Shticks Of One, Half A Dozen Of The Other” with him:
Oh the moon is bright tonight upon the car wash.
So I’m having my Volkswagen washed again.
But the way things go with me, the way my luck is,
Just as soon as they’re finished, it will rain.
We laughed and yet even as I type this I can see storm clouds gathering.
I’m very mindful of awesome friends like you, Chris.
I’m very mindful of those daylilies, the pugs, and Zen master Harley.
Thank you for your mindfulness, Maria.
I love all of the animals, who are each looking mindful, the caprese kabobs, and the amazing homeowner mug pic makes me mindful of the world’s sense of humor
I’m very mindful of your love, beth.
I first laughed that there’s a magazine for Mindfulness over 50, but I suppose that once I thought about it, there really is a difference in approach as we reach that number…and then pass it by almost two decades. Ouch!
It struck me as funny too, my friend.
