Let’s start fresh with a greeting from Los Angeles, California!

Start fresh, no matter what has happened in the past. That’s what Harvard-dropout Henry Gaylord Wilshire did: he moved west in 1884 to start fresh after he didn’t cut the mustard in the family business.

I saw that poster on Wilshire Boulevard yesterday, as I was trying to start fresh and let go of anxiety, assumptions, worries, concerns, and cognitive distortions (including fortune-telling, catastrophizing, mind-reading, personalization, and shoulds) after a five-hour flight and very little sleep.
My flight to L.A. started fresh with The Bill Murray Stories: Life Lessons Learned from a Mythical Man. That fun and inspiring documentary has a fresh start, middle, and ending, exploring legendary stories about Bill Murray, who can start fresh by unexpectedly showing up and engaging in other people’s lives. After that movie about starting fresh and being in the moment (and realizing that nothing else matters), I started fresh watching Rami Malek’s fresh and amazing performance in Bohemian Rhapsody. Later in the day, a few miles from my L.A. hotel room, Rami Malek started fresh by winning the Academy Award for best actor.
Will anything in my other photos from yesterday help you start fresh?

Keeping life simple, eating well, handling fragile things carefully, true stories, and remembering that healing is not linear (as I described in this post at the fresh start of this daily blog), all help me start fresh, every day. What helps you start fresh?
Here is Bill Murray, starting his movie career in Meatballs, inviting people to start fresh by reminding them that it just doesn’t matter:
“Nothing really matters to me” is the fresh ending to Bohemian Rhapsody, the song. Here’s Freddie Mercury and Queen — starting fresh and ending strong — with the Live Aid performance replicated in Bohemian Rhapsody, the movie:
Let’s end fresh with gratitude to all who helped me write this “Start Fresh” post and to all who help me start fresh, every day, including YOU.

I love this post, Ann! So glad I was able to drop by today. Thank you for the entertainment recommendations. I went back to read your post about the ascending spiral and it’s perfect for me right now. I hope you have a lovely time.
I am SO glad when you drop by, Maureen. Thanks for another fresh start.
There’s a story about Bill Murray that in a restaurant he picked up a handful of someone’s fries, said, “No one will ever believe you,” and ate them. I believe that story is true and that, for that matter, all of the crazy stories about Bill Murray are true. Have I said that before? I can’t remember, but before now there was so much of the history of Wilshire Boulevard that I didn’t know, especially about its namesake, and that’s a chance to make a fresh start and learn something new.
I learn something new from you, Chris, whenever you share your thoughts on WordPress. I hope you believe how much I appreciate your helping me start fresh, every time.
As a Catholic, I always am given a fresh start after Confession and receiving Absolution. 70 x 7 are we asked to forgive one another. Imagine how many fresh starts we can initiate when we continue to forgive. Not to mention our own in doing so.

Thanks for all the ways you start fresh, Alan.
Damn you write some damn good posts
Damn you help me start fresh, Joanne, every time you comment.
You went to “The Border Grille” downtown, si ? Try their guacamole enchilada ! Part of Robert Kraft’s rehab needs to be mandatory following of “The Year(s) of ….” He would not re- offend.
Thanks for starting and finishing this freshly supportive comment, my friend.
Start fresh and refresh!
Very refreshing, Maria!
What a fresh post, Ann! Thank you for all of it but especially the keep life simple poster and the link to your awesome ascending coil post. I needed it here and now.
I like the idea of starting fresh. I need lots of “do-overs!” I started “fresh” this week, walking the distances I’d achieved prior to Christmas, but after a bad ankle sprain in early January, I had to let that go. I’m back to just about 100% and appreciative that I can get back out there!
I loved “Bohemian Rhapsody,” too, and I’m very impressed with the care given to accuracy!
I’m very impressed with how you start fresh, Debra, whether or not you’re at 100%.
