Day 1987: Pride

Take pride in yourself and your accomplishments, no matter who you are. Your pride is contagious and good for us all.

Here’s a definition of “pride.”

1. a feeling or deep pleasure or satisfaction derived from one’s own achievements, the achievements of those with whom one is closely associated, or from qualities or possessions that are widely admired.

Yesterday was the Pride Parade and many other Pride activities in Boston, including a Pride service, a Pride festival, a Pride concert,  the Boston Pride Parade, and Pride Parties. (Here‘s a link to bostonpride.org.)

  2. I’m proud to open my mind and arms to the world, Ann.

  3. I’m proud to embrace all people in our world. What may have seem alien some 40 and 50 years ago seems absolutely normal today.

  4. I’m proud that I have two family members in North Carolina who challenged their state’s law that prevented them from marrying even though they’d been together for decades. They went to the Supreme Court and won.
    It concerns me that the gains they made could easily be rolled back, but by expressing my pride in their strength and courage, saying I stand with them, I hope I’m making that less likely.

  6. I know some people who think being proud of ourselves is wrong but I think they are wrong self pride is not a bad thing
