So my trip to South Carolina ended today. I’m back in Boston, which appears to have survived the snowstorm.
This is going to be a short post, because — honestly — I’m exhausted. I was thinking, at first, I’d write a long and lyrical post about goodbyes and endings. But, forget that.
I’ll just say right now that I think it’s important to mark endings in some way. While goodbyes involve loss — and therefore sadness — they are also incredible opportunities to acknowledge the importance of an experience.
There are a lot of great memories and images I’ll keep from this trip. Like pineapples and palm trees …
kind and helpful people …
wonderful architecture …
fabulous food …
cute kids and canines …
including the whitest dog in America.
So thank you, South Carolina. And goodbye, for now.
And thanks for reading (and goodnight).
