Yesterday, I heard this song about a garden …
… which caused many ideas to blossom, in the garden of my mind.
- I — like Stephen Stills and others — need “a place I can get to, where I’m safe from the city blues.”
- I like to see people as flowers — requiring nourishment, water, light, room to grow, and fertilizer (which is sometimes, inevitably, other people’s crap).
- Despite a previous infestation of soil gnats, I have two surviving plants in my office, which might not make a garden, but I’m glad they’re there.
- I do groups in my office, where mutual support helps people open up like flowers (to themselves and to each other).
- While I listened to “Johnny’s Garden,” I noticed gardens everywhere, even among the city blues.
What’s growing in your garden, today?
Blossoming thanks to Stephen Stills, to Johnny, to people who heal in groups, to gardens everywhere, and to you — of course! — for being open like a beautiful flower, here and now.
