Day 1617: Keepers

Nine hundred and thirty-seven days ago (but who’s counting?), I published another post with today’s title. The day after that, I published a post titled “Jeepers.” I hope those posts were keepers and that this one is, too.

I think “Keepers” is a keeper title worth repeating because we’re trying to decide what the keepers are as we move to a new home by the water.

Which of these are keepers?

The pappardelle Michael cooked last night was a keeper, but we didn’t keep it.  We ate it.

Here‘s ‘”The Keepers,”  a keeper by Santigold:

I don’t know what comments I’ll get today, but I know they’ll be keepers.

Thanks to all the keepers that helped me create this keeper of a post and to all you keepers — of course! — who keep me blogging, every day.

  1. If you are moving near thewater and there is room to ealk, I’d not keep the exercise equipment. The rest looks like a you chouce from here. Looks like it all has some sentimentsl value and that’s tough. Good luck!

  2. Deciding the keepers is easy. It’s the chuckers that will be difficult 🙂

  3. look like keepers all if you ask me Ann!

  4. Love the CAT!

  5. Hubby has been referred to as a ‘keeper’, but then a friend in 1989 had already told me to keep him as he was useful!

  6. M suggestions: Keep Oscar, the cool shorter do, the hanging globe, the door stopper, Michael, Michael’s cooking, Aaron’s capybara plaque (maybe in the new attic). ❤️😊😼

  7. I can’t decide for you and Michael, Ann. I can only imagine the scene and squirm. Yup, yup, yup, nope, nope … Oy.

  8. Take pictures of all the art work Aaron did as a child, offer it to him, he won’t want it, have a ceremonial bonfire. Try on all your clothes. If it doesn’t fit, pass it on. Now if I could just figure out what to do with all my photographs, I’d have pearls of wisdom to pass on to you. It’s not easy for sure, also because Aaron probably, still has most of his stuff stored at home. I have downsized my parent’s home, my own home, and my in laws home. Best of luck. It’s only stuff. If it’s driving you nuts, rent a storage unit for a month or two. It will give you time to say goodbye to your old stuff. Keep Michael, Aaron and your cats and us, your gentle readers.

  9. Wow, how do you decide on that? If you put a gun to my head I would lose the dumbbells. You’re already a heavy lifter with this blog.

  10. I remember when I learned that the word “souvenir” is French for “memory”. Before that I only thought of souvenirs as objects you picked up to remind you where you’d been. And it is nice to have those kinds of souvenirs, but memories you can always carry with you.

  11. They are all keepers. You may need a bigger house.

  12. Maureen

The cat, the capybara and the cook.

  13. The capybara and your dinner are keepers, and you with your new haircut of course!

  14. Yeah some keepers here indeed

  15. I see some definite keepers! But I would NOT want to be the one picking out what stays and what goes, for someone else. 😉

  16. Luis Del Castillo

Your new haircut is definitely a keeper………….and I think I’ll keep the guitar!! lol

  17. How exciting to be moving closer to the water! I can envision the process of only taking the items you truly love into such a refreshing environment. I’m very, very slow to let go of sentimental objects, so I’m probably incapable of any advice. LOL! I hope you have room for the clock, however. It’s unique shape caught my eye!

  18. I’m with moonwatcher’s wisdom on this one. Its just stuff … but always tough to let stuff go!

  19. needle point, clock, dancers
