April is
- tax month in the USA, which I always find quite taxing,
- “the cruelest month” according to T.S. Eliot, even though he wasn’t a citizen of the USA,
- the birth-month of my late mother, my friend Jeanette, my niece/travel agent Laura, and Jackie Chan,
- the name of a pregnant giraffe about to give birth (here on live feed),
- a time for lots of showers (to bring May flowers),
- Passover and Easter 2017, and
- the month I took these six pictures:

April is also the month I’m sharing some songs about April (here, here, here, here, here, and here on YouTube):
What is April to you?
April thanks to all who helped me create this post and to you — of course! — for being here, most likely in April.
To me April is the foolish month, but only in years when it starts on the first. And also in months when the month of April has an ‘r’ in it.
To me, it’s foolishly perfect that you are the first to comment on this post, Chris.
My birthday’s in April, so it’s when I make my yearly resolutions (instead of New Year)!
I resolve to wish you a happy birthday, Kim!
April is so inspiring … and brings post like this. Thank you Ann 💕
Val is so inspiring … and brings comments like this. Thank you!
Thank you the Al Jolson!
For the Al Jolson 😏
You are most welcome, Sunny!
I always learn something from your blog. I had no idea about the giraffe. A kangaroo hasn Joey so the animal kingdom is quirky.
I just checked the live feed, Alex, and the giraffe has not had her calf yet. Soon, I think!
April is an easy month not a lot of birthdays or events in it for me, does have Easter and Anzac Day though and Dawson’t birthday
I learn from you, Joanne, this April. Now I know that Anzac Day is “a national day of remembrance in Australia and New Zealand that broadly commemorates all Australians and New Zealanders “who served and died in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations” and “the contribution and suffering of all those who have served”. Observed on 25 April each year, Anzac Day was originally to honour the members of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) who fought at Gallipoli against the Ottoman Empire during World War I.”
My eldest son was born 53 years ago this year’s Easter Sunday
Happy birthday to your eldest son!
April is spring, great weather, and life.
So I like the little purple person running for the corner
