My first choice for a title, this morning, was “Values,” but then I discovered I’ve already used that title in a previous post.
It’s time for “Beauty” to have the starring role.
When I’m open to it, I see beauty everywhere. Here are some recent examples, in the immediate vicinity:
Sometimes, I just have to point and click, to capture beauty.
I’ve heard that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I’ve also seen less conventional instances of beauty, recently.
For me, beauty is often related to connection. For example, yesterday I came upon this, connected to something that often happens to me:
Harley was in bed, inexplicably wearing one of my socks.
I also saw beauty in connection, here:
What’s that little girl doing? She’s on a zip-line, as I was a few months ago in Panama (here).
Two more images from yesterday, to end this post. The first, at my son Aaron’s keyboard lesson:
The second, also connected to Aaron:
Boy, chinchillas are strange looking, aren’t they?
Thanks to springtime, blossomers and zip-liners everywhere, creatures conventionally and unconventionally beautiful, Harley the cat, Aaron the son, Tim Maurice the keyboard teacher, and to you the readers, for observing all this with me, today.

Beautiful colors in contrast today, Ann. And Aaron has taught me something about the dense and beautiful coat of the chinchilla, too.
There’s something to learn everywhere, isn’t there, Mark? Thank you for this thoughtful comment.
Did you see the culture post this morning? You ARE his lead. I have an interpretation on the “where we live” angle, perhaps different for New York and Boston. Growing up and spreading out from Brooklyn to farther out on Long Island in two separate moves, I still always felt that I “lived in New York.” I found it intriguing that culture blogger said that you did not consider that you lived in Boston, even though you live relatively lose in the greater metro area. Your thoughts?
That’s an interesting assumption, Mark. The Culture Monk does NOT mention me in his blog post today. He is referring to somebody else.
My bad. He got picked up by a different psychotherapist. Darn him for not naming names in that blog of his. I should know better than to assume. Mea culpa. Overactive brain syndrome for me again.
Not “bad” at all, Mark. No need to apologize here. Hey! I assumed I might get a Cultured mention today, too (even though I “should” know better, too, regarding assumptions). And what’s wrong with an overactive brain? And who’s to say what might happen in the future?
I figured (my ‘assumed’ in its summer clothing) that you would get a mention, Ann. We both shall see, I guess.
I just made a comment on Kenneth’s post, Mark, to clarify and avoid possible confusion.
What breath-taking photos. (and yup. I didn’t know that about Chinchilla’s either!)
Aaron knows a lot of things that I could only guess at.
The little things are beautiful! Cat with a sock on…. Priceless
You obviously know the value of things! Thank you.
All I can say is BEAUTIFUL!!! Going for a walk today and taking my camera. Thank you for the inspiration.
You are most welcome, Yvonne!
Ann, you certainly captured all the beauty, in nature and human nature, that surrounds you. I wonder where the other sock is?
Thank you, very much, for this kind comment. And while I may capture beauty at times, I am often clueless about capturing socks.
Beautifully expressed
Thanks for this beautiful comment.
I could almost smell the blossoms – hope you had an awesome Mother’s Day!

Thanks, Diana!

Amazing colours and the cat is gorgeous
You have a good sense of beauty, too, Cat. Thanks!
Beautiful. Especially Aaron’s P.S., “thanks for the life.” Precious.
I agree with you, Mel (as I often do). Thanks for the beautiful visit and comment today.
What wonderful photos! 🙂
Thanks for this wonderful comment, Niko!
🙂 you’re welcome Dear Ann
All I can say is “wow”…stunning images, thank-you Ann.
Love the “wow,” Christina. Thank you for the visit and the comment!
Beautiful photos, isn’t spring a wonderful time of year 🙂
Thank you, Anne. Spring IS wonderful.
Such pretty colors of spring.
Occasionally, cats are prone to “wearing” socks. 🙂
Thank you, David, for this very observant comment. Great to see you here.
Lovely theme for today. I love PINK 🙂
The pinks ARE great, aren’t they? Great to see you, Elizabeth, and thanks for the comment.
Absolutely…beautiful!!! Thank you Ann!!
You are welcome, Tracy. Always lovely to see you here.
Always lovely to be here!!!!!
Thanks For The Life! Hahahahaha that’s amazing
And those trees are beautiful! I’m tempted to walk around my neighborhood snapping photos because so many of my neighbors houses and yards are just gorgeous. Not sure if that’s legal though 😉
It better be legal here, or I shall be blogging soon from jail. Great to see you, Aussa!
Love love the card 🙂
Me, too! Thanks so much for letting me know.
The pink dogwoods are my favorite, with cherries a close second. There are such amazing blossoms this year. They must like the colder winter. Maybe we can learn from them 😉
As usual, Val, I learn from your accepting and beautiful perspective.
That’s my kind of beauty and I’m very impressed by the zip-lining!
And this is my kind of comment. Thanks, Hilary!
Your beautiful photos brightened my day.
And this comment brightened mine.
