Day 4847: Existential Questions

To me, having a nice time includes asking and answering existential questions.

.

Do you see existential questions (or answers) in my images for today?

.

What will I find when I search for “existential questions” on YouTube?

.

Is this an existential question?

.

Thanks to all who help me with existential questions every day, including YOU!

Day 4639: Positive thoughts

These days, positive thoughts may be difficult to find, so I asked a question about them last night.

.

My husband is pretty damn cute, also, and I had many positive thoughts spending time with him and also working on my song “Artificial Intelligence.”

.

I have positive thoughts about the vocal track and the ukulele track I’ve created using GarageBand on my laptop. I hope people have positive thoughts about “Artificial Intelligence” when I release it as a single.

I have positive thoughts about going back to work tomorrow, which shows how I positively love being a group therapist.

Do you see positive thoughts in my other images for today?

I have positive thoughts about old episodes of Project Runway
We’re thinking positive thoughts about growing red peppers
So many positive thoughts about my favorite restaurant — Brassica Kitchen!

.

I have positive thoughts about several of today’s holidays and observances.

Here’s a song I wrote about focusing on positive thoughts.

.

Feel free to share any positive thoughts in the comments section, below.

Thanks to all who inspire positive thoughts about this world of ours, including YOU!

Day 4602: Good advice

Ready for some good advice?

.

Here’s some musical advice from me.

.

I’m getting good advice about how to make sure that my live album shows up on Spotify and Apple Music on August 22. Also, I need good advice about which song to submit to Spotify’s recommended playlist. Do you think I should submit a trimmed version of “It’s Hard to Get Shit Done When You’re Scared Shitless”? Or should I submit “Don’t Kill Yourself” …

… “I Don’t Like You” …

…”I’d Like to Win the Grammy for Best New Artist” …

…“I Left the House Before I Felt Ready” …

… “What Are Other People Thinking About You?”…

… or “Everybody’s Somebody’s Asshole”?

.

My friend Jeanette, who gives good advice, suggested I choose a song that well represents my typical style and reflects my “brand” as The Singing Therapist. Her advice was to submit “Triggers.”

.

I also want to choose a good song with a strong audio-only performance and a catchy title, so I’m looking for good advice about that.

Thanks to all who are here for this “good advice” post, including YOU!

Day 4563: I have questions

In case you haven’t noticed, I have questions.

Today, I have questions about many things, including, What is happening to my country? Why haven’t several people gotten back to me, including the guy who recorded my two songs at yesterday’s protest? Why is Harley our cat puking so much? Why aren’t more people puking about the current USA administration? What can I do to make things better?

I have questions, as you can see in my images for today.

.

I have questions, including what is Leap Second Time Adjustment Day?

.

Here’s the kind of song I write when I have questions:

.

I have questions about whether clicking on this link will show you the local news report about yesterday’s rally.

https://www.facebook.com/share/v/16RPhzgt2x/?

Do you have questions about this I-have-questions post?

Thanks to all who pay attention to my questions, including YOU!

Day 4559: What is a Good Title for This Post?

It’s time for another edition of “What is a Good Title for This Post?” !!

Over my many years of daily blogging, I’ve used this during those rare days when I can’t see any common theme for the images I’ve gathered the day before. So I rely on the good people who read this blog to suggest a title.

What is a good title for this post?

.

A good title for this post might be “What are Other People Thinking about You” — but that is actually my sneaky way of sharing my original song with that title.

.

Is “Thank You” a good title for this post?

Day 4366: Confusion

In the midst of what seemed like global confusion yesterday, I found this interesting quote about confusion.

.

What helps me deal with confusion is spending time with those I love, including my dear, life-long friend, Barbara.

.

Among many topics we discussed yesterday, Barbara and I shared our confusion about online technology, which inspired me to write another verse for my latest song:

©️ Ann Koplow, 2024

.

Do you see confusion in my other images for today?

.

Even though I’m pretty familiar with YouTube, I still had to deal with false starts and confusion when I posted this live performance there:

.

In case there’s any confusion about the meaning of that song, let’s try to let go of caring what other people are thinking about us. Who needs that kind of confusion?

Thanks to all who help me deal with confusion every day, including YOU!

Day 4365: What are other people thinking?

Because I am very interested in what other people are thinking, I ask many questions.

.

What are other people thinking about my other images for today?

.

What are other people thinking about my live performance of “What Are Other People Thinking About You?”

.

What are other people thinking about the way I end each blog post?

Day 3371: Stop thinking altogether

Thinking hasn’t really been helping me lately, so I’m identifying with today’s Daily Bitch Calendar.

I’m going to stop thinking altogether that

  • my worst fears are going to come true,
  • my fondest wishes are going to come true,
  • I have any way of accurately predicting the future,
  • I have any way of accurately knowing what anyone else is thinking, and
  • thinking will bring me peace.

I’ve stopped thinking altogether anxiously about the future by filling in the blanks of this:

Don’t go to _____ until you’re going to _____.

Examples: “Don’t go to work until you’re going to work.” “Don’t go to the vet until you’re going to the vet.” “Don’t go to the open mic until you’re going to the open mic.”

This altogether stops me from thinking about possible outcomes, which never match what actually happens.

Stop thinking altogether as you enjoy my images for today.

I’ve stopped thinking altogether about Lobster Newburg by remembering this song I wrote a few years ago — “What Are Other People Thinking About You?”

If you’re thinking I need to get my act all together and create better recordings of my songs, my son Aaron (who is now my manager) altogether agrees.

I’m stopping this post by expressing my gratitude to all who have stopped by my blog today, including YOU.

Day 2224: Cute

Happy groundhog day!  Isn’t this a cute photo of a groundhog?

groundhog

That’s my cute Facebook profile photo today, because Groundhog Day is my birthday!

Yesterday, I heard the word “cute” several times — when I listened to this recording of my latest open mic performance …

… and when I showed my boyfriend Michael Malone the birthday card with original art created by my newest good friend Alice Malone (no relation between those two cute Malones).

fullsizeoutput_36e1

I think Alice Malone’s drawing of a tiger looking at ties is much more than cute.  Don’t you?

I don’t think it’s cute how there’s a delay between my taking photos on my iPhone and my ability to post them in my blog, especially when I deliberately take pictures of things  I think are cute.  However, I will share all my other new photos from yesterday and share those other cute photos when they turn up (probably tomorrow).

If you decide you want  a closer look at the cuteness in those photos, give a cute click on the photo of your choice.

While I am creating this blog post, a lot of cute people are distracting me (as I was distracted during my “cute” performance last night by a cute kid dancing in front of the audience)  by wishing me a happy birthday.

I’m going to make another cute try and see if I can access those other cute photos.

Here they are!

Here’s a cuter and closer look at Alice Malone’s website:

Don’t let the perfect get in the way of the good!  That’s a cute and helpful saying.

I look forward to many cute comments, below.

Thanks to those who helped me create this cute post and to all who helped me make it to age 66!

Day 2221: Dirty looks

The other day, I thought somebody gave me a dirty look.  When I perceive somebody giving me a dirty look, I can feel dirty.  That’s why I wrote these lyrics for my latest original song, What are Other People Thinking About You?

Was that person’s dirty look about you?

Was that person annoyed by something you did?

Could it be he’s thinking instead of his family,

Like his most distressing and stressing kid?

© Ann Koplow, 2019

I hope that I don’t get a lot of dirty looks from the audience when I debut that song in two days at an Open Mic.

Do you see any dirty looks in my photos from yesterday?

While dirty looks can feel like laser beams, we can protect ourselves with mindfulness mantras like “It’s safer than it feels” and playfulness, as explained on this mindfulness card:

I playfully gave a look at this sign  on my way home from work last night:

img_2789

I looked for the 1965 UK TV debut of the Who on YouTube. I couldn’t find it, but look at what is there!

Look at this Peter Gabriel song with the lyric “if looks could kill they probably will.”

What are your thoughts about dirty looks and the other looks in this pos?  I will give a non-dirty look at all your comments, later.

I look at the world with gratitude, every day, so thanks to all who helped me create this “dirty looks” post and — of course! — to YOU, for looking at it.
