Day 4151: Beliefs

One of my beliefs is that the more you authentically share about yourself, the more you will feel connected to others.

My other beliefs include:

  • It’s never what you expect.
  • Show up.
  • Be gentle with yourself and others.
  • Tell the truth.
  • Life is better with music and cats.
  • You’ll feel better if you don’t take things personally.
  • Don’t consume empty calories unless they include chocolate.
  • If you appreciate somebody, tell them immediately.

Do you see any beliefs in my images for today?

.

Here’s what I find when I search for “beliefs” on YouTube.

.

What are some of your beliefs?

My beliefs include that gratitude helps all of us, so many thanks to YOU.

Day 3962: Morning Mix

If you’re exhausted by the news (as I am), perhaps you’ll enjoy this Morning Mix from The Washington Post.

.

For those of you who think cats are aloof, here’s another paragraph from the Morning Mix article:

.

As I wonder “more articulate and affectionate than previously thought by WHOM?”, are you ready for a morning mix of my images from yesterday?

.

I always appreciate what the Daily Bitch adds to my morning mix.

Here’s a great song with saxophone to add to your morning mix:

.

Thanks to affectionate and articulate cats of all kinds, Johnny Hartman, John Coltrane, and people who read my morning mix, including YOU!

Day 3228: Assumptions

One of my questions on Twitter yesterday had to do with assumptions:

One of my assumptions is that we tend to personalize and blame ourselves way too much. And I assume that people assume every day, as a way to make meaning.

I assume you’ve heard this one: when I assume, I make an ass out of u + me.

Do you see any assumptions in my other images for today?

My assumption is that the Daily Bitch doesn’t like raisins in her ice cream.

I have no assumptions about why today’s National Day Calendar didn’t include Election Day. I also have no assumptions about the Virginia Governor’s race, but I have hopes about the outcome.

Here’s what I find when I search for “assumptions” on YouTube:

I have no assumptions about what comments will show up, below.

You might have an assumption that I’ll end this post with gratitude, because I always do!

Day 2959: Your Opinion

Have you noticed that your opinion is not always shared by others, including family members and friends?

When opinions are different, my opinion is that people might

  • defend,
  • declaim,
  • double down,
  • demonize,
  • discriminate,
  • distrust,
  • disappoint,
  • disassociate, and/or
  • disappear.

And those are just the D-words of what people might do!

What do you do when your opinion is different?

My opinion is that people might respond “that depends.”

Sometimes, other people’s opinions are disturbing (see today’s news for plenty of examples). However, different opinions can also be illuminating, instructive, and inspiring.

Today, I am interested in other people’s opinions about opinions AND about which video I should use of my song “Vaccine.”

In your opinion, is this one better …

or this one?

Also, what is your opinion about today’s images?

The opinions expressed by the Daily Bitch are her own and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of she who creates and maintains The Year(s) of Living Non-Judgmentally.

Thanks to you for reading my opinions, no matter what your opinion may be.

Day 2613: Don’t worry about it

Yesterday, when I was worried, I consulted something I have posted on my door at work.

IMG_1962

Someone has an opinion about you?  Don’t worry about it.

Do you have trouble deciding what’s best, as suggested in the lower left corner of that flowchart? Don’t worry about it.

Do I have other photos to share today?  Don’t worry about it.

Here‘s Madcon‘s “Don’t Worry” feat. Ray Dalton:

Never heard of Madcon before? Don’t worry about it.  That video has over 134 million views on YouTube.

Not sure what to say in a comment?  Don’t worry about it.

Wondering if I have new ways to thank all of you?  Don’t worry about it.

Day 2508: Flow

Two days ago, I drew this flow chart on my office white board for somebody who was trying to decide what action to take in a very difficult family situation.

Then, in a flow of  synchronicity, somebody who used to participate in my Coping and Healing groups sent me this flowchart in an email:

I love the way that flow chart keeps flowing into the same conclusion.

Are you ready for the flow of lots of other photos?

Last night, my dear friend Jeanette flowed into town from Philadelphia and shared our dinner, flowing conversations, photos of a Nailed It! cake and her trick-or-treating dog Gidget, and also this:

It looks like that kitty has some opinions.  Go with the flow and don’t worry about it!

Here‘s a review of the book Flow by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi:

Here’s “Flow” by Shawn James:

I look forward to the flow of comments below, because

Are you ready for the flow of gratitude for all who help me create these daily posts, including YOU?

Day 1677: Moving On

Last night, several people who were moving on to important issues in my therapy group decided to focus on the topic of “Moving On.”

Moving on to words  I shared in that group about “Moving On” …

IMG_2823

As I mentioned there, my friend Jan is moving on to a new place. Yesterday, I was moved to witness people’s reactions to Jan’s moving on.

While I said “Hip Hip Hooray” to Jan’s happiness about moving on, I and several other people were moved to tears when we said goodbye to Jan.

Moving on to other photos I took yesterday …

That last photo shows how somebody was moving on to charging people for unsolicited opinions and advice.

Moving on to some music about “Moving On” …

Thanks to all those whose moving on inspired today’s post and — of course! — to you, for moving on, here and now.
