Day 4946: Destiny

It’s apparently my destiny to create a blog post about destiny today.

Maybe that’s my destiny because I’m going to see The Odyssey today. According to the reviews, it was Christopher Nolan’s destiny to make this movie.

It is my destiny to share these images with you today.

On Perfect Family Day and Listening Day, it’s my destiny to share this: because I’ve been listening to people in therapy for years, I believe it’s nobody’s destiny to come from a perfect family.

Here’s what I find when I search for “destiny” on YouTube:

.

Every day, it is my destiny to express my gratitude to YOU!

Day 4944: Who is this for?

Before I disclose something about myself in my therapy groups, I ask myself the important question: “Who is this for?”

If it’s something that will benefit the group, I’ll share it. If it’s just for me, I’ll keep it to myself.

Before I started today’s post, I asked myself, “Who is this for?” When I’m blogging, I know it’s for me and I can only hope it’s for you, too.

Who is this for on National Fresh Spinach Day? It’s for me, because I’m on warfarin for the rest of my life.

Who is this for?

.

Who is this for?

It’s for YOU!!!

Day 4943: What are you waiting for?

What are you waiting for?

I’m waiting for (among other things) a response to this email I just sent to Janis Ian.

Now I’m waiting for somebody to notice the typo in that email.

I’m waiting for another opportunity to tell somebody who needs to hear it that the waiting is the hardest part.

.

What are you waiting for? Permission? The stars to align? Approval? A guarantee? The right time?

Things to be different? Courage? Perfection? Somebody else to make a move? Security? A sign?

My images for today?

.

What are you waiting for? My gratitude? Here it is.

Day 4941: Buyers Regret

Yesterday, when I was returning some running shoes and buying new ones, I said I might write a new song called “Buyers Regret” because even though I loved my new shoes in the store, I was sure to have second thoughts about them soon.

Here’s my first attempt at “Buyers Regret.”

.

Here’s a definition of buyers regret/remorse:

.

Here are the rest of my images for this buyers regret post (none of which I regret).

.

Here’s what I find when I search for “buyers regret” on YouTube.

Thanks to all who are here for this buyers regret post, including YOU!

Day 4940: Simplicity

I love the simplicity of a good quote.

.

Today is National Simplicity Day, which honors Henry David Thoreau.

.

Do you see simplicity in my other images for today?

.

Here’s what I find when I search for simplicity on YouTube.

.

I hope you appreciate the simplicity of each blog post’s end.

Day 4939: Passion

I have a passion for blogging — that’s why I’ve been doing this for almost five thousand days!

I also have a passion for understanding and connecting different perspectives — that’s why I love group therapy.

Here’s a definition of “passion” …

.

… and here are some quotes about passion.

.

When I’m stuck, I try to reconnect with my passions.

Is there in my other images for today?

.

Here’s what I find when I look for passion on YouTube:

.

I have a passion for sharing my thanks to you!

Day 4938: Upsides and Downsides

Today’s post about upsides and downsides is sponsored by the Daily Bitch Calendar.

.

For many people, one of the downsides of adulthood is having to go to the dentist (especially if they eat ice cream for dinner). For me, the upside of that is I get to see Dr. Luis Del Castillo, dentist extraordinaire, fabulous bassist, and longtime reader of this blog.

I hope Dr. Del Castillo knows what an upside he is for me and many others.

Can you see upsides and downsides in my other images for today?

.

Here’s what I find when I search for upsides and downsides on YouTube:

.

Thanks to all who help me deal with the upsides and downsides of life, including YOU!

Day 4937: Where would you rather be now?

Because I saw this bumper sticker yesterday …

.

… I decided to ask people, “Where would you rather be now?”

.

Where would I rather be now? Right here, sharing these images with you.

.

Here’s what I find when I search for “where would you rather be now?” on YouTube.

.

Even though some of us would rather not be here, please don’t kill yourself.

.

As usual, I’m grateful to be here, now with YOU.

Day 4936: The Truth

The truth is that I’ve often shared these three “secrets to life.”

  • Show up.
  • Be gentle.
  • Tell the truth.

Do you see the truth in my images for today?

.

Here’s what I find when I look for the truth on YouTube.

.

Thanks to all who are here for the truth, including YOU!

Day 4935: Unsure

With so much chaos in the world and the current corrupt administration in the USA, I am uncomfortably unsure about the future.

I have always been unsure about the future, but never so uncomfortably unsure.

Maybe that’s why I noticed this unsure pile at the hospital where I work.

.

As usual, I am unsure about the best way to present my other images for today.

.

I guess the Daily Bitch was unsure about what day it was.

Here’s what I find when I search for “unsure” on YouTube.

I was unsure who Adam Savage is, but now I know. His advice to spend time on what I think about most helped me feel less unsure about myself.

What are you unsure about? Because I’m sure that I’m not alone in being unsure.

Thanks to all who are here for this unsure post, including YOU!
