Day 4991: Things that make you smile

Whether I’m new in town or old in town, I try to collect and share things that make you smile.

Yesterday, in Lucerne, Switzerland, I saw many things that I hope make you smile.

.

Here’s what I find when I search for “things that make you smile in Lucerne.”

.

Many thanks to those who make me smile, including YOU!

Day 4990: New in Town

I love being new in town in Switzerland!

.

Even though I am here on my own, I’m loving doing new things in this beautiful new-to-me country.

Here’s something new: I slept on the plane last night! Also, when I showed up early for my hotel in Lucerne, it was ready! Those are both such wonderful things when you are new in town.

Do any of these images show that I am new in town?

Because my flight was delayed, I got to briefly join the weekly ZOOM call with my sister-in-law and my son. We talked about taking past pictures flying out of Logan when we were all going to be new in town.
Because I’m new in town, I thought “walk: 59 m” meant “walk 59 minutes” (instead of meters).
I’m new in town, so I’ll definitely snap pictures from a train.
I love being new in town in Lucerne!

.

I think the Daily Bitch has the perfect advice on what to do when you are new in town.

Since I am new in town, I don’t know if I’ll figure out the perfect way to spend two days in Lucerne, but that’s okay.

Whenever I am new in town, it helps to communicate and connect with wonderful people like you!

Day 4983: Traveling

This morning, I’ll be traveling into work at the hospital via ferry, foot, and subway. In less than a week, I’ll be traveling to Switzerland alone via airplane.

I experience anxiety and excitement whenever, wherever, and however I’m traveling.

Are you ready to be traveling through my images for today?

.

On Weather Complaint Day, I’m deciding to not complain about the weather when I’m traveling, as you can see in this exchange with ChatGPT.

.

Here’s what I find about traveling to Switzerland on YouTube:

.

Thanks to all who are traveling with me, here and now, including YOU!

Day 4868: Ready to Go

Yesterday, I was ready to go home, so I took this photo at the Barcelona airport.

.

After a wonderful vacation in Spain with beloved friends (including author Janet Raye Stevens), I am ready to go back to work, which tells me I love being a group therapist and a songwriter.

Are we ready to go to my other images for today?

The Uber driver and I sang songs when we were ready to go to the airport and he showed me his USA-related tattoos.
Michael was ready to go visit his son and grandchildren in Boston and he was ready to go listen to my songs after we spoke before boarding the plane.
I was ready to go up into the wild blue yonder!
I was ready to go share some memories with the sweet guy who sat next to me during the seven-hour flight.
I was ready to go back home, even though the weather was rainy in Boston.

.

Here’s my song about being ready to go.

.

Now I’m ready to go have fun on a beautiful Friday near Boston!

.

Thanks to all who help me get ready to go every morning, including YOU.

Day 4867: Wishes

Yesterday, on World Wish Day, I got my wish for a great last day in Barcelona. Now I wish to have a safe flight home to return to family and work that I love.

Who wishes to see today’s images?

Ray wishes safe travels and Janet wishes that more people would read her excellent books (here and here).

.

Here’s what I find when I search for wishes on YouTube:

.

On Thank You Thursday, I wish to thank all who are here for this daily blog, including YOU!

Day 4866: Heroes

As my time in Barcelona is winding toward a close, I am choosing to spend time with personal heroes, including amazing architect Antoni Gaudí and friends old and new.

Can you see heroes in my images for today?

Here are my friends Janet (who heroically writes wonderful books) and her heroic husband Ray, who were heroically trying to meet my longing for an architectural tour of Barcelona.
Ray, acting as tour guide, told me that this heroic monument was related to a mall being constructed that went horribly wrong. Janet heroically disagreed and said it was a salute to LEGOS
My heroic husband Michael, who heroically cooks amazing meals for me, would LOVE the fresh fish and produce in Barcelona.
People who embrace change are heroes of mine.
Gaudí used heroically unconventional design methods, including working from scale models.
My new friend birthday girl Dedra, who is a hero for working in behavioral health.
William, me, and Dedra — three behavioral health heroes vacationing in Barcelona!

.

On World Wish Day I hope that all my heroes get their wishes met in this world. .

Here’s a YouTube video about Barcelona’s hero Gaudí:

.

Thanks to all my heroes, including YOU!

Day 4865: Moods

Wherever you are and whomever you’re with, you’re going to have moods.

That’s why I took this picture yesterday in Madrid before we got on a train back to Barcelona.

.

While we might want to be in good moods all the time (especially when we’re on a hard-earned vacation), that’s pretty much impossible.

So let’s embrace all the moods we’re having and be open to allowing new ones in.

What moods do you see in my images for today?

.

Here’s what I find when I search for “moods” on YouTube:

.

As always, blogging first thing in the morning resets my moods for the day ahead.

Thanks to everyone who helps me deal with moods, including YOU!

Day 4864: What do you like to do for fun?

What do you like to do for fun?

For fun, I like to travel, spend time with those I love, explore new places, listen to (and create) music, eat yummy food, enjoy great art and architecture, hang around with cats, notice coincidences, take pictures, and (of course!) blog.

.

On Tell a Story Day, I hope my pictures here tell a story of a very fun day spent with friends at Madrid’s Prado Museum.

.

Thanks to all who help me have fun, including YOU!

Day 4863: Segovia

Yesterday, we visited the beeeooootiful town of Segovia, Spain. Janet wasn’t feeling well and missed the trip, so this blog post is especially for her (and, of course, for you).

What are your impressions of our day in Segovia?

Hi, Ray!
I love carousels and this carousel in Segovia is the coolest one I have ever seen!

.

After that great day in Segovia, it’s time for me to get organized, hug my friends, and go to the Prado.

Thanks to all who joined me in this trip to Segovia, including YOU!

Day 4862: Let’s Explore

“Let’s explore” (which could be my motto) is something I saw yesterday at the Madrid train station.

.

Let’s explore the trip from Barcelona to our hotel in a mall near Madrid, with this daily blogger as your guide.

My dear friend, traveling companion, and esteemed author Janet Raye Stevens.
Esteemed artist and traveling companion, Salvador Dali.
Dear friend, traveling companion, and esteemed chocolate aficionado Ray.
Esteemed random internet image.

.

Let’s explore this YouTube video about Segovia, which we will be exploring today.

.

Finally, let’s explore my gratitude for all who help me explore through this blog, including YOU!
