When I have a problem or question, I often wonder “who should I ask?” Who is likely to have the right answer? Who might help me quickly? Who won’t be bothered or annoyed by my need for answers?
Lately, the question has been “Who should I ask — a person or AI?”
This week , I’ve been asking ChatGPT questions, including unanswered ones I have about my long-time clicking/noises in my jaw/mouth when I speak.
Who should I ask about what they think about that and my images for today?

.
Who should I ask about diet and fitness: a human professional, the Noom app, or The Daily Bitch Calendar?
Here’s what I find when I search for “Who should I ask?” on YouTube.
.
Who should I ask for comments if not you?
Thanks to all who are here for this who-should-I-ask? post, including YOU!

Wow! You lobbed Chat GPT some really tough questions. How do you feel about the answers? And I haven’t yet tried AI.
Some are helpful, for sure, but AI often bluffs when it doesn’t know the answer, as I’m finding out. Thanks for your questions, Maureen!
One thing I like about you is that you are not a bluffer (in the way that AI is)
It takes one non-bluffer to know another one, my good friend.
I am also turning to Chat GPT, and it’s proved to be very useful. There are few if any people in my circle who could answer my questions and the Wiki is rarely specific enough. The first time I used it was to query about something I read in Henry James’ “The Ambassadors,” and Chat was right on it. Just yesterday, I wanted to know the average pay for a typist in 1900 and for a secretary in 1967. Chat was Johnnie-on-the-spot. I think writers may find it very useful – NOT for doing the actual writing, however. I might count that as substance abuse.
Great answer, Barbara.
Milan Kundera said his novels didn’t answer questions because human nature is in the form of a question. I know that doesn’t help with your specific problem but I find comfort in knowing we all have questions.
You always give me comfort, my friend.
I still prefer to ask humans
Me too, beth.
