Day 4552: Accepting all feelings

For various reasons, many people have trouble accepting all feelings.

You can tell that someone isn’t accepting all feelings when they use the word “should” about feelings, as in “I know I shouldn’t be feeling this way” or “I should be happier.” To invite accepting all feelings, I often say, “There are no shoulds regarding feelings. They’re like the weather, so just let them come and go.”

This morning, I’m accepting all feelings, including hope, disappointment, confusion, curiosity, dread, relief, and love.

Can you see accepting all feelings in my images for today?

Here’s what I find when I search for “accepting all feelings” on YouTube:

I hope you are accepting all feelings, including my gratitude for YOU!

So far I find myself almost unacceptably blase’ about whether or not the First Felon decides to go to war with Iran. I suspect he’ll probably just opt for the bunker buster, no doubt conflating it with a blockbuster, which he thinks his war leader prowess will prove to be. A bunker buster sounds like such a Trumpian weapon. I just can’t imagine him playing war with actual people. So blase’ is okay by me for now.

  2. I recently bought a metronome. It was a small thing, not expensive at all, but after a lifetime of thinking I’d never play music it meant a lot.

  3. I’ll accept where today takes me, Ann.
