Day 4005: A Weary World

According to The New York Times, this is a weary world.

.

Sometimes, I get weary of others telling me what kind of world it is (and other restricting labels), but many people I meet are weary these days.

What kind of world do you see in my other images for today?

.

Here’s what I find when I search for “a weary world” on YouTube.

.

This video might help a weary world (as it helped my husband Michael and me yesterday):

.

Thanks to all who help this world feel less weary, including YOU!

  1. I see a hopeful world

  2. Debbie Terman

My daughter has a button that she wears on her birthday: “My name is Gail and today is my birthday” and it successfully inspires good wishes from friends and strangers all day long, which she loves. The amazing part is that she can rarely find anything else in her home, often calling me to ask, “Mom, do you know where my [fill in the blank] is?” (and oddly, most of the time I do remember seeing it and can lead her to it!)—yet she reliably locates that birthday button every year.

  3. I’ve been thinking the same thing lately. Not very merry about Christmas – haven’t even sung the Boar’s Head Carol around the house yet. Not to mention Masters in this Hall. I love olde Christmas carols. But there is no snow here in southern Wisconsin – who put the “south” in there anyway? And the world itself seems lost in an orgy of pulling in or acting out. A little 10th century.

  4. Sometimes when I’m exhausted with this world I look up to the stars. Sometimes I look up to the stars just because they’re there. Either way I think about how small our world is but also how important it is that we take care of it and each other. It’s why I’d like a button that says “Keep looking up.”

  5. I think “weary world” is spot on. I can feel it. But hope creeps in there and refreshes from time to time. I hope for a “less wearying” experience in the coming year?

  6. I never feel weary when I look at a photo of Joan. I suppose for me Joan is like the stars are for Christopher (when I am reading your blog, in any case). I do always feel a noticeable gentling or lifting of my heart when I see a photo of Joan. It’s probably your love for Joan that I see.

  7. How about a button that says I’m Holding In My Thoughts, Ann? Some days I should look down and heed that one.
